Youth hostel is located in the middle of the city, but also has a large garden for nature lovers. The rooms (our room at least) were very spacious, the bathroom was the largest I have ever seen in a youth hostel. The staff was nice, if sometimes a little short, but always ready to answer questions! There was also a small cell for books (for bringing in and taking away), overall very nice!The youth hostel is located in the middle of the city but also has a big garden for friends of mother nature. The rooms (our room at least) had a lot of space to spare, the bathroom was the biggest one I have ever seen in any youth hostel this day. The workers were friendly and always ready to answer any questions we had, despite them being busy often. There is also a small room for books (Bring some, get some!), in conclusion a totally cozy place!

-Tiny rooms-Even tinier bathrooms-Dirt on the bedsheet-Light that doesn't make you bright-Window may only be tilted-Bed is unstable-Shards under the bed-Door handle fell off-Stuffy air in the bathroom due to lack of ventilation-WiFi has interruptions-Mold-Billiards (1€) and drinks (2€) cost extra-Lunchbox offer totally overpriced-Glasses are much too small-Food tastes bad-Overall overpriced-TV doesn't show a smooth picture-Sofa broken-Drink machine broken due to bottle getting stuck-No drinking water dispenser-Curtains hardly provide any darkness-Weather forecast out of date by a week-Towels cost extraConclusion: Once was too much.

Youth hostel in the 60s style. It has its own charm. I like it.I had one of the "better" 2-bed rooms with very nice sanitary facilities.My wife had a 4-bed room with a later built-in shower and toilet. Not quite as pretty but functional.However, you would expect a lot more for the price.Very good range of vending machines in the foyer.The beds are very loud and creak when you turn over at night. I woke up from it several times.1 point deducted for this.There is 1 further point deduction for the totally underground WiFi, which is not accessible everywhere and keeps breaking off. Once it works, it's so slow that you can't even think about working.What is again very positive are the parking spaces located directly in front of the entrance.Very nice breakfast room with sufficient offerings.Good leisure activities such as games, books and magazines.Very friendly and helpful reception.I can recommend this youth hostel with a clear conscience.

Oiso, that's where the worst three nights from my good life. D'Zimma sand totol gloi gwe'n and d'Bäder no gloiner, and s'goab koi Fenschter ned, weshoibs right g'stunga hot. There was no drinking water coming out of the faucet and there was no water dispenser. Ois hot egschtra kost, s'Inthorned was almost as bad as the television that wasn't received a minute ago. That was a wonderful week at the Göttingen Youth Hostel!I would like to thank the whole team. Rooms are clean and comfortable, food is very tasty. Pancakes for breakfast or ice cream for dessert are not available in every youth hostel. The staff is very helpful, polite and friendly and every wish is fulfilled!

If I could give 0 stars I would. Food doesn't taste good, beds are uncomfortable, rooms are small, looks like a psychiatric hospital (not nicely decorated), wallpaper is half falling off the wall, unfriendly staff, staff doesn't stick to any agreements, bed linen is broken, lights only partially work, Food overpriced.There is little you can do in the area.Once and never again.

My room was very fine. I've heard from others about very moderately good rooms.Food was okay at times. Of the 6 meals I had, breakfast on Sunday was very good. Poor on Saturday and reduced to baked rolls and basic cheese.Lunch and dinner are not recommended for vegetarians. There are vegan or vegetarian options, unfortunately they taste bad. Otherwise the food is only moderately tasty.Unfortunately always too little...The rooms are otherwise not very comfortable, bearable but not very homely in the white neon light.There was a burst pipe. You can send a school class here but it is not suitable for other gatherings or travelers.

First of all: Pretty expensive for what you get.Rooms: The rooms themselves were sensibly designed. The size of the bathrooms was problematic. It was very tight. There was only 1 chair in the room for 4 people. Sockets are very awkwardly positioned so not even close to the beds. Hence only 3 stars.Service: A good effort was made. But the food was very scarce. We were 50 people. If you didn't get there early enough, most of the food was already gone.The quality also left something to be desired. Sometimes thawed ice cream as dessert, sometimes a slimy pudding that was a bit disgusting. The coffee wasn't strong enough either.As I said, there wasn't enough food. And not particularly good but otherwise the service was good.Location: The location is easy to reach. You can also get into the city very quickly by bus or on foot.Otherwise everything is quite nice. With good will I give it 3 out of 5 stars.Otherwise it would be 2.5 stars out of 5.

We stayed here twice as a family for an overnight stay in early summer 2024. One child has to eat gluten-free because of celiac disease. Unfortunately, this is not addressed, even though it was promised over the phone beforehand. The staff in the kitchen don't know their way around and no separate gluten-free food is prepared. Food containing gluten (couscous) is offered as gluten-free. We googled while we ate and then confronted the employees. There was normal pasta, unfortunately no gluten-free pasta. Instead, the child was supposed to eat the farmer's pan with potatoes, which he didn't like. This was the only food that was gluten free. Instead of the gluten-containing pudding, fruit was initially offered and only later was ice cream. However, this was only after we had complained 3 times. A gluten-free diet doesn't mean cutting out everything and going to bed hungry.We had the same rooms on the way there and 2 weeks later on the way back. The light above the bed has not been repaired in the meantime.Cots for our twins, who are just over 2 years old, were not even offered. No fall protection either.For the relatively high price compared to the youth hostels in the area, we would have expected better service and better facilities.We won't stay here again.

The Göttingen youth hostel is located relatively far from the city center; it takes 25 minutes to walk downhill to the beginning of the Göttingen pedestrian zone. Going back is of course a little longer uphill, but there are two bus lines 50 and 80 that go to the youth hostel bus stop.Friendly staff at reception.In the dining room, the kitchen employees are almost invisible and only when the time to eat is up do they quickly appear to put away the leftover food.As is usual in youth hostels, clearing away dishes and wiping tables are part of the guests' duties.Towels, one small and one large, cost 3 euros. Bed linen smells freshly washed,The rooms, 4 bed rooms, are sufficiently large and, as usual, equipped with bunk beds, only the wet room and the toilet could be larger.Wardrobe can be locked with a padlock. Mattresses are covered in blue terry cloth but are a bit thin. There is a narrow pillow and a sufficiently large Plümo round off the bed.In the foyer there is a games corner, a small room with books and a billiards table.3 vending machines with coffee, bottled soft drinks and treats are open virtually 24 hours a day.

In the last few years I have been to various DJHs. Unfortunately, Göttingen is at the negative end.The sanitary facilities in the room were a disgrace. It couldn't be smaller or tighter.The food wasn't really good either. You certainly don't expect a star menu in a youth hostel, but a pickled peach for dessert was bad. And the food beforehand was also below average compared to other youth hostels.The outside area also had nothing to offer.However, Göttingen as a city was a positive surprise. I can only recommend a city tour.
