Our absolute insider tip.We've been there as a family four times after Christmas and always stayed in the same room.The hostesses are very friendly, attentive and helpful. The location is indescribable because you have a great view and can totally switch off. There are lots of hiking options (we really liked the Christmas trail, for example)The price-performance ratio is also totally right here.There are countless possibilities for things to do.

The guesthouse is located above the town, so you have a great view, especially the sunsets. The rooms are furnished with a lot of love, including the hallways. Under the roof there is a small fitness room with sauna, infrared sauna, solarium, electric. Massage mat...

I was there in October and had a very nice time. The accommodation was great. Especially the view from the balcony! The breakfast buffet was very nice and more than enough even for a vegetarian. There are many circular hiking trails around the county, some of which even go directly past the guesthouse.

We went on a hiking weekend in Sauerland in August and spent three nights at Pension Schütte.I was lucky enough to get a double room for single occupancy. The bathroom was newly renovated with a great rain shower. My friend had a normal single room, which was a few years older but still in good condition.The breakfast was very good. I would particularly highlight the excellent coffee. Every morning you are asked if you want an egg and in what form. There is also a small specialty every day upon request (ham rolls, tuna salad, fruit salad).The location is wonderfully quiet in a cul-de-sac. It's 5 minutes to the bus stop, but it's quite steep down the slope. Above the guesthouse is the striking Wilzenberg with a beautiful observation tower, the huge cross and a pretty chapel. Definitely plan a visit, but allow for a steep 250 meters in altitude over ~5 km.A little extra praise goes to the excellent shoe shine facility in front of the entrance. This is far too rare, but it should be mandatory for a hiking hotel.Conclusion: Nice, quiet guesthouse, good to very good rooms, great breakfast, friendly operator, excellent value for money. Unreserved recommendation.

Beautiful room with a balcony, hallways and doors look brand new, good breakfast, a fitness room with sauna and solarium, terrace with seating and loungers... Everything you need for a successful stay. In midsummer I would like to have a small refrigerator in the room for drinks, but not all hotels have that.

A week with Heribert Schütte was good for me. The hotel presents itself very well from the outside but the inside is also very clean and comfortably furnished. I got a room with a bathroom and balcony, with a fantastic view included. The breakfast tasted very good. My stay was very relaxing. Big thanks to the Schütte family.

Beautiful guesthouse.View and landscape excellent.Accommodation very clean and there was nothing to complain about.Breakfast was all good.The reception was friendly, but the weekend would have been more pleasant with a nice smile and a few nice words about the stay.You felt a little uncomfortable.My sister and daughter were also not welcomed as guests in the main house. Unfortunately that wasn't hospitable.The farewell was also rather cold.Otherwise there was really nothing to complain about.

Rude and incorrectWe had booked 2 double rooms for one night at the Pension Schütte in Grafschaft.When we made a reservation request, we received a response relatively promptly, but when it came time to confirm the booking in writing, our email apparently ended up in the spam folder, even though it had the same e-mail sender as the booking request. So we had to ask over the phone and the answer was rude and annoyed.Unfortunately, we had to cancel the two rooms a few days later because the current nursing shortage in the retirement home where one of us works had put a damper on our travel plans.Although the cancellation conditions can be read in writing on the Schmallenberger Tourism Association website (free of charge up to 7 days before arrival), and we had canceled 8 days in advance, we were threatened that we would have to pay for the rooms if they could no longer be rented out elsewhere. When we kindly pointed out that we found this very strange, we received a cheeky and rude email, without any salutation or greeting. They didn't want to waive the cancellation fees.We then turned to the Schmallenberg tourism association, where they helped us very friendly and promptly. They didn't understand Pension Schütte's approach at all.We then received written confirmation of our free cancellation from the tourism association.The question remains with us, what would have happened if we had not contacted the tourism association…….??? So: CAUTION!We personally will NOT actively recommend this guesthouse!

The accommodation or you can say the hotel is extremely nice. The owner is also extremely nice and accommodating. The room was very clean and tidy. The equipment is very good according to the price. The breakfast is also very generous and it was more than enough for me. Every day there is a different addition to breakfast.One day it was a delicious egg salad. The other day we had perfectly baked waffles with powdered sugar. The other day there were tomatoes with mozzarella, but with a gentle sauce just so that the food wasn't too sour in the morning.In addition, the breakfast egg is available exactly the way you want it. All in all, really highly recommended.I am really, really impressed with this extremely nice accommodation. You can tell that there is heart and soul in this. Everything is consistent. I stayed here as part of a bikepacking tour and was super happy with the accommodation. Everything was perfect: breakfast (very vegan-friendly, rich and large selection), room (very clean, great view from the balcony), staff (very friendly) and my bike could also be safely stored in the garden shed. Only recommended! :)
