We were at this place for the first time last night. It's beautiful. The view, the peace, the location. We have been to a few trekking places and this is definitely one of the most beautiful. Particularly worth mentioning is the best outdoor toilet we have ever seen. There is a lot of love in this place, the little details and the structure are really great. We will definitely come back. Thank you for this opportunity to spend such a great night.

If you want to stay overnight legally and alone in the middle of nature, this is the right place for you. The hospitality of Stefan and family is unique. We have now been on the trekking platform with our son more often. In addition to the seating area, there is also a bio-toilet and enough options to set up a hammock or sun protection/rain protection via a sail or tarp. It is by nature standards, always clean and well maintained... Little tip!! Everyone should definitely book breakfast too. You can just tell that everything there is done with heart.

The trekking place was just great+well-kept place that is not just surrounded by earth and into which you sink with your shoes as soon as it rains+ super clean toilet, even with a child seat+ really nice people in the hotel and very helpful- There is a bat path right past the platform, so you can get visitors every now and thenNormally I wander from place to place with light luggage, but due to the proximity of the parking lot I decided to stay in one place for several nights and didn't travel in a minimalist way. So I had much more comfort, but still had the isolation of a trekking site. And this was exactly the right place for that. There are lots of beautiful hiking trails around and you also have so much peace and quiet because you hardly meet other people even while hiking. In the evening you could still watch the bats before retreating to the tent.With such a luxury place, the only thing missing is steps to the platform. 😂 Now that’s complaining at a very high level 😅😅😅My dog and I will definitely come back if we want to go camping again with more luggage.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐I had the pleasure of spending a weekend at the trekking site at the Landgasthof Rüppel in the beautiful Sauerland and was absolutely thrilled! The location is fantastic, surrounded by beautiful nature, ideal for hiking, cycling and relaxing.A particular highlight was the extreme cleanliness of the latrine. I have rarely experienced such hygiene at a campsite. It is clear that a lot of emphasis is placed on cleanliness and care here. The sanitary facilities were immaculate and always freshly cleaned. This made our stay even more pleasant.The Landgasthof Rüppel also offers friendly staff, delicious food and a great atmosphere. If you're looking for a break in nature, you've come to the right place. Absolutely recommended!

I'm often inclined to complain a little, but there's really nothing to complain about here.If you know what you're getting into, everything is really right here.If I were to make a suggestion for improvement, I would probably say leave everything as it is. And carry on with your plans exactly the same.I'm sure we'll come back.I just don't know whether I should recommend this place to people, otherwise I won't get a free place (just kidding).

I used the trekking site as an overnight accommodation on a multi-day tour. The place is in a quiet location, you have a great view of the valley and the toilet is ranked 4th among the most beautiful composting toilets in the world (ranks 1-3 can be admired in Norway ;-)).Super nice, uncomplicated host who is rumored to even have a hammock available to lend if you forget your own.

Pure nature on the @trekkingplatz_sauerland.I really like camping/tenting, it has a bit of freedom and that's exactly what I love.We (me + miniature pinscher Timmi and my friends) set off on Friday evening to the beautiful nearby Sauerland. When we arrived at the hiking car park or @Landgasthausrüppel, we grabbed our luggage - our tents, provisions and marched up the path next to the hotel. You can also stop off at the country inn.When we got to the top we toasted first. We found the seating area, consisting of a wooden bench and a wooden table, to be particularly practical. The distance from the parking lot to the trekking site was only a maximum of 50 meters.Our tents were set up relatively quickly because the trekking site provided plenty of eyelets. You can leave your things a little messier in the tent without having to worry about room service.We even had the luxury of a toilet block. From the square you can go on wonderful hikes. We tackled this immediately after arriving and setting up. Once it got dark it became romantic, the fireflies went looking for a partner and it was really nice to watch the little fireflies. The night was quiet and relaxed. The next morning we were woken up by sunshine and birdsong. The view when you open your tent in the morning is simply indescribable. Being able to freely decide when to have breakfast, when to leave the holiday destination and to have your own order in the tent is simply a great feeling. It was only one night, but we were able to recharge in this wonderful place as if we had been traveling for three days.A trekking holiday like this is a relaxing adventure that we will look back on for a long time.A wonderful place and a very nice host.

I already know this type of “permitted wild camping” from the Eifel and am a big fan of it.This platform in the beautiful Valmetal has been brilliantly implemented.The operator is a great guy with whom it was very easy to exchange feedback about the platform as well as other things. Suggestions were gratefully received and there will be another upgrade to the platform in the near future...great!All in all I am very satisfied.- Very good platform with many eyelets for attaching the tension ropes.- Very clean and well-equipped composting toilet (even a light with a motion detector - maybe retrofit something with solar?!)- Easily accessible space that you can even reach by car if necessary- Owner's hotel very close- everything in a very beautiful hiking region (a lot of information about this in the hotel and the owner would definitely give you great tips for arriving on foot in advance)- and don't worry, there's hardly any traffic on the road down by the hotel (I'd say one car every 4 hours... pure peace and quiet!)I can confidently recommend this platform to any outdoor lover who likes to sleep outside!
