TOP BATHING LANDSCAPE • HOTEL WITH WEAKNESSES • THE PLACE AUWEIA"Santé Royale" sounds good. So it's no wonder that we set off for Bad Brambach in January 2023 with great expectations. Our conclusion after 5 days of HP in the standard double room: there is light and shadow and "royale" is perhaps a bit exaggerated. When we arrived, we initially thought we were in the wrong hotel because the reception and hotel lobby lacked any charm. We were asked, in a manner that we found condescending, to sit down and wait our turn. Boom! Wellness wasn’t exactly a thing at that point. Our room offered a beautiful view of the spa gardens. The furniture was high quality and there was a large flat screen TV.The transparent glass door to the bathroom is not for everyone. The parquet should be re-sanded.The heating didn't start right away. The information from the reception was: first turn it fully on and then turn it back later. Saving energy is different, but it worked. The modern, spacious bathing and sauna area with direct access from the hotel is great.Large glass walls facing the spa park and plenty of loungers - you can feel comfortable there! Thanks to the large indoor and outdoor pools with pleasantly warm water, you can not only splash around, but also swim a few lengths. The directly adjacent spa park is very beautiful. It offers little pomp and a lot of nature, old trees, ponds, streams and walking paths and a highlight: the Bad Brambach springs. In the large pavilion you can drink the healing water from four springs, including the Wettin spring, the strongest radon source in the world, but understandably only with medical approval. Many hiking trails into the Elster Mountains begin in the spa park. However, in the town center with some half-ruined buildings, closed shops and restaurants, there is hardly any holiday feeling. It's a good thing we booked half board because we couldn't find a restaurant that was open in January.Breakfast was from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and until 11 a.m. on Sundays. The buffet was extensive, but the dishes reminded us of what was on offer at the discount grocery store, not bad, but not "royal" either. The coffee was barely more than lukewarm. On the first day we thought: it could happen, but on the other days it was the same. Likewise the scrambled eggs: maximum lukewarm. In a food warmer without a heater underneath it can hardly stay warm. Shortly before the end of breakfast you could understand that, but we were always there around 8:30 a.m.Dinner was from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. and from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The starter and dessert buffet was varied, but here too the impression was that it shouldn't cost much. And the soup? even just lukewarm. For the main course served at the table, there were 4 dishes to choose from (1x fish, 1x meat, 1x vegetarian, 1x vegan). The taste was always good and so was the presentation on the plate. The wait staff, including many trainees, were always committed and friendly.Overall, we rate our stay as satisfactory. Next time we'll try somewhere else.UPDATE MARCH 2023We also submitted a review with the same content on a special platform for hotel reviews. Shortly afterwards there was a comment from the hotel that really made us feel mocked. Our criticism was not addressed at all and it was commented on in such a way that the name Santé Royale would have raised our expectations too high. And yes: the name raises expectations, but we think that's exactly what we want, although a friendly welcome, warm coffee and warm soup probably have nothing to do with too high expectations. . .At our request, the comment and, unfortunately, our rating were deleted. We then read through many 3 and 4 star reviews from other guests and the corresponding comments from the hotel: The way in which they react to criticism is, in our opinion, very worth reading, because you can see the attitude towards the guests. . .

I gave my girlfriend a wellness weekend from mydays for her birthday. We felt more than welcome. The room was very inviting and nicely decorated. The service was always helpful and friendly. The staff in the dining area was also courteous and friendly. We also really enjoyed the food. The surroundings are beautiful. The wellness program is very good. There is an in-house swimming pool. One or two great sauna areas with different saunas. It was a wonderful weekend and would repeat.

We can only recommend the hotel and the thermal baths. Very pleasant because of the bathrobe walk to the thermal baths. The thermal spa itself offers a variety of treatment options. The 2 sauna areas are very modern and very well maintained. The only drawback is the infrastructure of Bad Brambach. A discount store that is struggling with a staff shortage and coffee shops that are closed on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Without a car it becomes very monotonous. However, there is the possibility of getting to other places by bus (very reasonable times). There are plenty of sights and hiking opportunities in the Bad Brambach area.We would like to praise the service and the staff. Courteous and very friendly to the guest, thank you very much for that.

We went through a bathrobe corridor to the thermal baths. It has 2 x sauna areas, inside and outside. With hourly infusions. The rooms are sufficiently large. The breakfast was in buffet form. At dinner the main course was served, which you could choose from among four dishes. The rooms were cleaned every day.

Called several times today to make a reservation/booking.A friendly voice said that all members of the service team were in conversation and that we should leave our telephone number and we would be called back.About 3 hours passed, no call back! Another call from us and the same friendly greeting. After another 2 hours no call back. Tried again. Same announcement and no callback. In total we have had it 4-5 times without success. If the service team isn't even able to call back, how is the service in the hotel? For us, even the attempt to contact you is disappointing.Best regardsR. Thomas
