Stay September 2024 (4 nights arrangement)The Vitalhotel Sonneneck has a very beautiful location with a wonderful view of the Brocken and Wurmberg and the spa gardens. You can especially enjoy this wonderful view from the wellness area and in the breakfast room. It is very quiet and pure nature for relaxation. A beautiful house.Unfortunately we didn't like our room (Brockensuite) that much, we didn't like the layout of the rooms on the 2nd floor, very small living area, small bedroom, and we also had sloping ceilings. The large balcony was nice. The furnishings and size of the rooms are unfortunately very uncomfortable. Not so comfortable. There is simply a lack of attention to detail in the rooms, but this is evident everywhere in the general area. So it works. We missed everything in the rooms, we were disappointed and had imagined the room differently based on the pictures.Too bad.Unfortunately it was also very cold and the heating wasn't on, unfortunately we neglected to say that. We foraged in the evening and didn't have any blankets either,Next time we'll say that straight away!...The wellness area is very nice, great swimming pool, fantastic view, spatially very nice and warm, but the water is about 2-3 degrees too cold to feel comfortable in the water.Steam bath very good.Breakfast very tasty, something for everyone, nice cozy breakfast room, coffee very good (also coffee specialties),Scrambled eggs or boiled eggs as desired.Nice service staff.WiFi very good, TV connection very good, parking very good.We would have liked a little more INFO from the hotel management, unfortunately they were very tight-lipped here.We know it differently.Wellness massage from the employee (included in the package) was very good and in a pleasant atmosphere. The Sonneneck Alm restaurant right next to it is very nice, also with a beautiful view and very good food. Very cozy with a fireplace in a nice atmosphere. 100% recommended. We had an arrangement with 2 x dinners, on the other days we ate there a la carte. Reservation is recommended. The restaurant is very busy.Nice service, very pleasant and comfortable.

Very nice, quietly located hotel with a swimming pool and saunas. Everything is exactly as described on the website. There isn't much going on in Hohegeiß, but we deliberately chose that way. Our room was beautifully furnished, bright, friendly and clean. The breakfast buffet was very varied and delicious. The staff is very friendly, and the boss is always approachable. The opening hours of the restaurant take some getting used to 🤭 but not only in this wonderful hotel, but in the Harz region in general. We really enjoyed the 5 days/4 nights and recommend the hotel without reservation.

Nice, quiet location. Pool was great.Clean rooms.Unfortunately there are fewer parking spaces on site, no TV 📺 in the bedroom only in the anteroom with two armchairs.Breakfast is small but you can order something extra for free but there was no menu indicating what can be ordered e.g. fried eggs, scrambled eggs...We didn't see an elevator.

We stayed there for 2 nights at the weekend. We liked it, the room was clean, the contact person and operator were very friendly, as were the employees. The menu was kept small, which we personally liked because the organization went well and you didn't have to wait long. It was also very tasty and the breakfast was sufficient. There is a small point deduction because the steam bath was out after 2 hours on the first day. Which was no longer the case the following day! We had a good rest with a great view.

Very nice hotel. Great location with a view of the Brocken, if desired. Rooms are clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast buffet very good and plentiful. If desired, individual wishes can also be fulfilled here. Staff very nice and friendly. Small wellness area with sauna, pool and, on request, massage options. Ideal for relaxing. We'd love to come back.

What did I like? The hotel is in a quiet location. Very quiet at night. From our room there is a beautiful view of nature and Brocken. For dinner there is a restaurant directly on site. The breakfast fairy was very accommodating. What didn't I like?Unfortunately I couldn't see the 4 stars anywhere.Neither at breakfast nor at the rest of the hotel.I've been to a few hotels and can't understand the breakfast rating of most of them. The breakfast was neither varied nor something for every taste.I can understand that as a vegan or vegetarian you have problems finding something or should note this when making your reservation. But I'm neither one nor the other, and had problems getting something good out of breakfast.Unfortunately the selection was very “selective”, there was only cold cuts with pork and a large selection of cheese. As well as some cereals and of course jam, honey and boiled eggs.I'm used to other hotels having a small selection of poultry cold cuts.On the second or third day I asked whether I had perhaps made a mistake. My assumption was confirmed and I was promised that poultry would also be part of the buffet the next morning. The next day there was also “sliced poultry”.One kind!Very varied for a week's stay. After the second request, the boss suddenly stood next to me,in the middle of breakfastand said he had already got something and that he should know something like that a week in advance for the wholesaler.Nothing like this has ever happened to me.Goodbye to a cozy, quiet breakfast! When checking out, we were told that such requests had to be communicated to the reception and not to the breakfast staff. There are unsecured nails hanging in the wall near the staircase. There was a lot of air in the hallway to the rooms all week long; apparently it was never ventilated, even though there is a window at the end of the hallway. The cleanliness of the room after cleaning left a lot to be desired. You might miss something one day (which I don't think should happen with 4 stars), but not the whole week. The mirror in the room was stained all week. There was a grease stain from a finger or something on the balcony door all week.In the bathroom there was still hair on the floor after mopping. In my opinion, the food in the associated restaurant was too expensive for the quality on offer, which could not be compensated for by the great view.So far, all of the hotels I have booked have had safes in the room. Apparently only in the suites, this should be mentioned in the description. The description of the facilities says something about alarm clocks, extra-long beds, clothes racks, valet parking, charging stations for electric cars, mini golf and bicycle rental. Unfortunately we were unable to discover these things during our stay.

We only ate breakfast there (at first) as there was no food in our house and we were extremely satisfied. The boss and service lady were extremely friendly and accommodating. The buffet was very tasty. Egg dishes (scrambled eggs, fried eggs) were prepared upon request. We would also be happy to come to the hotel for a holiday. Everything is beautifully and lovingly furnished. We immediately felt comfortable and would have liked to check into the hotel straight away. 😁

We only visited the restaurant here. The menu is small and the food is freshly prepared. We'll be back.
