The small hotel, which has been family-run for generations, is located in a deep, romantic meadow valley not far from the winding climb of the pass road to the Feldberg. Very close to the house are the chairlift and ski lifts to the Herzogenhorn - well known among skiers and hikers. When we arrived we received a very friendly welcome. The restaurant, a Black Forest-style dining room with neatly set tables and floral decorations, seemed very cozy and homely to us from the first moment. The current offering on the menu is manageable and offers regional dishes for every taste - at moderate prices. All of the dishes we chose were rich and very tasty, and the quality of freshness was also absolutely convincing - including the trout that was served, which until a few minutes before had been kept in clear running water, which mainly comes from the nearby "Fahler Waterfall". Our quite large room with balcony was, like the entire house, extremely clean, the shower room was new and modernized, the beds were good, and there was enough closet space even for a longer stay. We only found the television unexpectedly small.The “soul of the house” is feminine, heartwarming and at the same time the boss; She is actively supported by a no less “kindred spirit” and humorous sous chef in service. Both ladies - an experienced and well-coordinated team with a lot of heart and a balanced sensitivity for guests and hospitality.We felt comfortable straight away and will be happy to come back.

Went there for the first time and were very positively surprised, the food was very tasty 😋 😋 Beef roulades with mashed potatoes and red cabbage, delicious cordon bleu with croquettes and salad also delicious 😋. We'll definitely be back next year Greetings Biggi Hans and Andy

Absolutely top class service! Very friendly with children, also had our puppy with us. Food is great anyway! Have been there on every visit to Todnau and would love to come back!

I can't rate the rooms because we only had a drink there.A truly rustic Black Forest room. Where the service still serves people in traditional costumes. Also the loving hospitality.Nice people who serve their guests some nice dishes and drinks. You should definitely try the trout. Because it can hardly be fresher. Freshly caught and then off to the kitchen.If we're in the area again, we'll be happy to come back.

Small hotel where you are warmly welcomed by the owner. Very clean rooms but a little dated, especially the bathroom. Very good meal, although a little expensive. But we had a great weekend!

Recommend their trout (seems that they keep about 50 trout with the river nearby, and they'll catch one when you place an order). They'll fry it very crispy on the skin, while the meat is unbelievably soft.Beef and spatzle are also very good as well. Breakfast is great and rich. They even provide yogurt and chopped fruit as salad. I also like their homemade sekt.Room is very big and comfortable. Only one issue: the water heater is made with plastic, so I wouldn't dare to heat the water to be too hot.The place is right in front of a bus stop. Very convenient to get to the ski resort. Will definitely consider to visit again.

A lovely quaint hotel, the staff were amazing and very accommodating.

We spent our Black Forest vacation here and felt very comfortable from the first moment. We received a very warm welcome and friendliness is also very important in this hotel. The rooms were very clean and the food was delicious. The menu is not very large, but there is something for everyone. The sausage salad was the best we have ever eaten! We can only warmly recommend the hotel.
