Skillful hotel concept with lots of charm, innovation and hospitality. How nice that young people are revolutionizing the hotel industry in rural areas and, like here, skillfully developing what already exists. Pop up mission successful! I'm excited to see what's to come - it's going to be a great movie!

We had a wonderful short vacation in the hotel “The Beautiful Life”. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is very cozy. The rooms are exactly as described on the homepage. A little old, but with a lot of charm.The breakfast was good, everything you need. We particularly liked the small sauna with hot tub. This was always heated upon request! Since there were only a few guests during our stay, we had the sauna all to ourselves every evening. The in-house bowling alley can also be used. We felt very comfortable... somehow decelerated. If you're not looking for a crowded, off-the-shelf hotel chain, you'll find it here. But we have one comment. We really missed having a trash can in the room. Unfortunately, the small bucket in the bathroom wasn't enough for us (with two children, one of diaper age). Small waste containers at the breakfast table would certainly be great.Having a room key for two adults was also a nice experience :), but with a little imagination and a good throw from the balcony everything was manageable ;).It was a great short break all around and we would come back!

I booked a soul flow retreat here and today is my last evening. All I can say is that this hotel has such charm and character, it is imperfectly perfect! I love it! This retreat is beautiful, especially with the wonderful yoga teacher Kim, who gave really incredibly nice yoga lessons and led most of this retreat. It's so cool and loving here, light and relaxed, the food is great, the hosts are super nice, everything is great different than what you are used to here in the Black Forest, but so authentic and real!! I'll definitely be back and I suspect most of those who have booked this retreat will too! Really great!

Super delicious food. So really outstanding, almost exclusively regional products, creatively put together local cuisine, a lot of homemade stuff that you can't get anywhere else and still within a normal price range (+-20€ for a main course). One of the best and most unusual restaurants in the area

Our stay at this hotel was a disaster. The entire building is old and in a miserable condition. The rooms were dirty and some of the furnishings were broken. There were no fly screens on the windows which meant lots of spiders and grasshoppers got into the room - absolutely disgusting! To make matters worse, there was no WiFi in the rooms, which is simply unacceptable these days.The light switches and sockets had no covers, which not only looks unsightly but can also be dangerous. When we pointed out these problems to the staff, we were simply told that this was their "pop-up concept" and that there were spiders and grasshoppers everywhere in the Black Forest. This answer is simply unacceptable. I absolutely cannot recommend this hotel! Pop-up works differently too. This is simply about minimal investment. Too bad!

This hotel is truly unique and lovingly decorated. Super nice and attentive hosts, great staff, tasteful furnishings, nice atmosphere and really delicious food!The menu includes creative and modern dishes with regional products, many delicious drinks and wines. The menu changes often and seasonally, so there is something new to try every time. I really enjoy coming here and always feel comfortable with you!

I really liked the mix of old and new and the mix of styles. The food and service were very good. Maybe not so suitable for a (working) vacation where you have to rely on the internet. Room facilities okay. Nevertheless, overall very nice and recommended.

Old hotel with charm, currently being refreshed. The pool is not a swimming pool,at least serves to cool down on hot days.The owners and staff are very nice and helpful, the service is friendly.Breakfast is good, dinneris delicious and imaginative.

A very outdated hotel. Renovated using DIY. More wanted than able. The staff is very nice, but the rooms are unfortunately really bad. Very poorly equipped, furnished as if it had been removed from the trash. Eating in a restaurant works like this. Breakfast was quite okay. I won't want to live there a second time. One night was actually too much. They advertise a pool, but it's just a run-down paddling pool from the hardware store.Ps...unfortunately I have to add something later.Unfortunately, pictures posted on the booking portals do not correspond to reality. Everything nicely processed with filters. From a distance everything always looks so beautiful. Up close...I'd rather not express it. We have stayed in much better hotels for the same price in the last few days. Currently this was number 5 out of 6. But you attract people with embellished pictures and certainly also embellished reviews, who then have no chance of canceling.PopUp, as named by the owner and upcycling is all well and good. But then please have the right to withdraw.Unfortunately we didn't take any pictures.We then said to ourselves that we only had to survive one night.I haven't slept as badly as I did here in a long time. A sleeping pad on a concrete floor is softer than the mattress was. The bed was also far too short for the headboard construction with hidden lamps. At 1.80m, your feet were hanging out of the bed so that you didn't hit your head or other parts of your body on the headboard.I could list even more shortcomings. I just don't feel like it anymore.

Unique hotel and not like all the others - but at least as good!A pop-up hotel is an older hotel with many “rough edges” that has been redesigned with a lot of love (modern lamps and fairy lights paired with cuckoo clocks on wooden paneling, old chairs in a new color look on new tables, “half” painted ones in the rooms Room walls including bathroom, doors and “antique” bed frame together with modern cube shelves and clothes racks, to name just a few examples - sounds crazy, maybe it is a bit - but the overall concept works completely, it looks great and you feels completely comfortable!)The two of us spent ~1 week here in a normal room. We didn't miss the (intentional) lack of a television - we just wanted to "detox" from technology and the everyday world. Despite what it said, we didn't have WiFi in our room - but it wasn't a bad thing. Reception via cell phone with LTE (telecom network) is fast enough for this and that. There are water glasses and a carafe in the rooms for the really good tap water. Unfortunately there is no hairdryer in the room - rent it from reception or bring it with you.The hotel has a small green area and is located directly on a rushing stream. There is also a restaurant (Salon Sepp) (very good food, recommended!), and the great breakfast is also served here. For breakfast there is either a buffet or, if there are few guests, a mini buffet at the table that leaves nothing to be desired - various rolls, fruit, vegetables, scrambled eggs, muesli, yoghurt, honey and jams, various teas, very good coffee from the machine, sausage, cheese). Wellness is also provided: a small swimming pool, hot tub and sauna are also available.In the evening there is little traffic on the nearby (main) street, so it doesn't bother you. Excellent connection by car, bus stop also a few minutes' walk away.The staff (including Oskar the dachshund) is very friendly and accommodating.Top price/performance - we were surprised that there wasn't more going on (sometimes it was just us and two other guests having breakfast). We would definitely like to come back.

Much too expensive considering the dilapidation of the hotel, old shutters impossible to close, small room and small shower. Restaurant which serves rather good Thai dishes but an overwhelmed service, more than an hour of waiting at the table, in short, very disappointed. I won't go back there.
