We booked three single rooms in September 24th. These probably hadn't been renovated in 25 years; the furniture came from the 70s or 80s. Luckily they were quite clean. But taking 102 euros for that is pretty bold! Service and breakfast were not acceptable. Can't recommend.

The price of around €72 per person (including breakfast) is not assessed here as it may be appropriate depending on the region. However, I would like to address the local conditions, which were unfortunately disappointing. We were a group of four families and had booked several rooms. The initial joy about the beautiful area with the nearby river between the nearby mountains and the large outdoor area with seating and loungers quickly gave way to disillusionment. The interior of the inn is very rustic and old, which could certainly have its charm. However, the bathrooms in particular were in a very unsightly condition. In most of the bathrooms there was black mold in many places, sometimes over large areas. There was rubbish from the previous guest in a mirrored cupboard, and the faucet was so calcified that the water jet sprayed in three directions. Broken handles on the bathtub were simply left hanging, which added to the impression of a run-down accommodation. The toilet flush was so weak that even two sheets of paper were usually only flushed down after several flushes. In one room the toilet was not anchored to the floor, which left an uncomfortable feeling when using it.We wanted to visit the river just a few meters away, but getting there was an adventure in itself. You had to fight through chest-high grass, other plants and mud to reach it. Improvements could definitely be made here. As a visitor, this river is an attraction, especially when you come from the city. After a long hike in the really beautiful area, we were looking forward to the outdoor area. But the deck chairs were already taken down at 7 p.m., so we had to make do with much harder café chairs. As soon as it got dark, we sat in the dark as there were no outside lights or they weren't turned on. We had to make do with a cell phone and an empty bottle to get some light. On the day of departure we had to vacate the rooms at 10 a.m. Since it was raining, we wanted to play cards or board games in the lounge for another hour or two before parting ways. However, we were not allowed to do this, which further increased the already negative feeling. The breakfast, on the other hand, was very rich with rolls, vegetable sticks, pre-cut fruit and various types of cheese and sausage. Jam and muesli were also available and you could get coffee from the machine. The breakfast was actually successful.Overall, I rate the inn as I still felt a day later, and unfortunately I can't give it more than two stars. As a host, I would make the following improvements to significantly increase guest comfort. Ultimately, this effort would pay off:- Freely usable refrigerator for guests (e.g. in the hallway)- Keep the rooms clean (garbage and mold are absolutely not allowed; the many blood stains from insects also cast an unsightly look on the rooms)- Furnish and decorate bathrooms in a more modern way or at least keep them in good condition (cracked sinks, uninstalled toilets, broken brackets, calcified taps, old shower curtains)- Install outdoor lighting- Leave chairs available outside longer- Replace door handles with more modern and stable models- Lay out the path to the river with stones and/or cut back plants regularlyOf course, a restaurant cannot be compared with a hotel. However, we are a hiking group that has been going for 11 years and have visited many restaurants, so we expected a certain standard.

There is no reception so you have to wander around the house to find someone who can help you. A bell would have saved the day, but it was broken. Leading the way for the rest of your stay.Leaky windows and a barely functioning radiator in the bathroom make the time after the shower an involuntary shiver. The balcony door mechanism no longer works properly and the bathroom door cannot be closed.WiFi was only available for 5 minutes, the rest of the time was via your own mobile internet at 3-4 G. (According to the description, didn't the owner check the speed himself?)There are no toothbrush cups and a small trash can in the bathroom, as well as an ashtray on the balcony. The view from the balcony is marred by plastic furniture in the forest and on the banks of the Trettach. Please ask me if I would come again and guess my answer!
