We stayed at Haus Alraune for a week in a very nice holiday apartment. The apartment is modernly decorated with beautiful wooden accents and modern furniture. There is a modern kitchen with everything you need. A super nice bathroom with a beautiful rain shower was perfect. We felt very comfortable in this apartment and can recommend it without hesitation.

If you are mainly in Oberstdorf for hiking and can get by without WiFi and TV in your room, this is the right place for you.The rooms are still in the old style and simply furnished but clean. There was no television in our room and we had to do without WiFi. It's not a far walk to the center and the beautiful mountains are right on the doorstep. We liked it. The staff and service was also very good.:)

Perfect for anyone with low demands and/or a small budget. For everyone else: HANDS OFFPer:Price is low (about twice as cheap as the surrounding area).We and our luggage were picked up at the train station and taken back.If you have any special requests, they will be happy to fulfill them (for us: more breakfast and a kettle in the room).Shared fridge in the public hallway (we marked it as "private").Quiet location and well placed for mountain hikes.Con:Facilities old.No WiFi and no sockets (only 3 in total including the bathroom) by the bed.The third "bed" (3-bed room) was so hard that I often couldn't fall asleep or had back pain early on.Small cobwebs on the ceilings or some dead spiders could be found.

Very dingy, it needs to be cleaned thoroughly and the furnishings need to be replaced. I think it was built around 1960 and nothing else has been done. The carpet is full of stains and the shower has never been replaced. The mattresses were so worn out that you felt like you were lying on the floor.Booked a room with a balcony and got one without for the same price. The hygienic conditions are an imposition.You don't expect luxury but cleanliness. Breakfast was ok.I think we were put in an emergency room. Thank God only 3 nights.

Looking at the previous reviews, I was skeptical, but I was completely convinced by the results. First of all, if you book Alraune, you are of course not booking a luxury hotel, which you shouldn't expect given the price. BUT: The facility is clean and has a rustic Bavarian charm. The hosts are incredibly nice.The breakfast is appropriate and is adjusted to individual requests, i.e. the amount of sausage/cheese and the type of side dish can be freely discussed. Previously it was criticized that everything was neatly counted. Yes, you basically get a "counted" plate, but - as I said - you can of course also get a second helping if you ask. Personally, I even think it's good that there isn't a general "oversupply" created, but that you only get what you actually eat on the table.All in all, it was great value for money accommodation with no frills.

The hosts are friendly. The location of the guest house is quiet, but is a 15 - 20 minute walk to the town center.The guest house is on a hill.The decor dates back to when color television was just invented, but the rooms are clean and cleaned daily.You can safely skip breakfast.Everything is counted out and below standard.There are simple rolls, a slice of brown bread, some cheese and sausage from the supermarket, a piece of butter, a packaged tin of jam and a pot of coffee. It's better to skip breakfast and eat it down in town.There is no WiFi and the connection is sometimes poor. Just mountains.The price/performance ratio is good.
