Great cabin!I recently stopped at the hut. The food was very tasty. I asked for cigarettes which as expected were not sold.However, when the hut owner recognized my dilemma, he rolled a cigarette for me and gave it to me. That was a very warm and nice gesture. I think that reflects quite well what awaits you at the hut.thank you very much again!

This was our third time in the Waltenberger Haus and definitely not the last time.4 bed rooms with small wooden cupboards for every backpack, simply brilliant. The washrooms are modern and clean/if you absolutely have to shower, it costs €5.The drying room is spacious and offers enough space for shoes and wet clothes. Slippers are available for rental there. Top!The hut owner and his team are super attentive and just nice!! When we were up there there was a power outage and yet everyone tried hard and creatively to bring food and drink. The food is super tasty (especially the dhal) and the portions are plenty to fill you up after a day in the mountains.The panoramic windows and/or the terrace offer a fantastic view.Thank you for giving this hut this special atmosphere.See you next year.

First overnight stay on our 5-day hut tour and the best! Delicious food, nice team, enough storage space and space in the warehouse, clean, top drying room, no waiting times for storage, dinner and breakfast. There were no showers, but it's not a hotel either 😉

There's nothing wrong with it.Just a dream. In the morning, ibexes could be seen right in front of the hut.

Very nicely located,you have to hike your way to the Waltenberg House with a lot of sweat,and is greeted by lovely hut people!The opposite of Birkenstock tourism.Wonderful!

In my opinion, the Waltenbergerhaus is the most beautiful hut on the Steinbock tour through the Allgäu Alps. I like the modern architecture. And since the view and the aura of the Bockkarscharte must still be the same as in 1875, when the house was first built, I don't see any break in style in the fact that it has a modern shell and chic furniture and floors in the same historic style place comes from.In the end, the mountains make the huts. Not the other way around.In any case, I don't need creaky, old wooden floors to get into the cabin mood.What I need, on the other hand, is coffee and cheese bread with jam and pepper in the morning. And there was plenty of it at the buffet. It may be that lower-calorie breakfast combinations at other huts are cheaper when billed for individual meals than at the buffet price.I do not care. The buffet was good for me.Generally speaking about price & performance. The exposed location in alpine terrain should make you humble when it comes to demands anyway... what was even nicer was that the cuisine was really as excellent as the view! Regarding the recent recession, in which people complained about the price of smoked butts, I would like to add that after a few beers and glasses of wine, I was even able to get a cigarette for free from the innkeeper....but I only wanted one and not half a box ;-)

Everything was fine so far.The only thing you can't run out of is cigarettes here. I basically smoked a pack - considering the price. The staff charges €2 per cigarette 🙄🙄🙄Food was good, everything was clean. Priced more expensive than other huts because of the helicopter service.

Were with a larger group. The 12 bed room is nice and big and spacious. The location and the view are breathtaking. Service and also the family are super nice and very hospitable. We really liked it and would like to come back.Thank you for the lovely stay.

Very nice cabin, which is very new and very nicely decorated. Great terrace, good food, great surroundings and starting point for beautiful summit tours. When we started shortly before 6 a.m. tomorrow, we passed right past the ibexes.

A really beautiful, modern hut with lots of amenities. I think the small cupboards for backpacks in the dorms are great. The beds are comfortable and there is enough space. Showers cost 5 euros for 2 minutes of warm water.We spontaneously descended from the Heilbronner Höhenweg and actually wanted to continue to the Kemptner Hütte. However, the weather put a damper on our plans - just like the other half of the overnight guests that day. Nevertheless, we still got two beds without any problem. The drying room was super heated as we all arrived with wet shoes and clothes. There are guest slippers in a variety of sizes.The guest room has panoramic windows, the view is simply awesome. A few deck chairs on the terrace would be nice, but you can also sit in the sun on the beer benches and enjoy the view. The sanitary rooms were clean.There is a waitress, the service was good and friendly. The evening menu is available at 6 p.m. and you can decide whether to book half board with breakfast buffet (16.50 euros per person) for an additional charge of just under 40 euros or pay separately. The prices for the food were ok, the prices for the drinks were a bit overpriced. Since the hut has to be delivered by helicopter, this is partly understandable.There is a point deduction for breakfast - there is only the choice between buffet for 16.50 euros or nothing. Coffee or tea can still be bought individually, the price was over 4 euros. Since I only eat a roll with some jam early on, I thankfully skipped the buffet, as did my companion.In the morning and evening the ibex came very close to the hut and ate there; in the morning we had them right in front of our window.

A pearl on the mountain.Whether it's unnecessary, ecological madness or a necessary springboard for the alpine experience - everyone has to decide for themselves.This location in the Allgäu is definitely legendary!

We stayed in the top modern Waltenberg House for three days. The hut owner and his team are simply great. After our arrival and a warm welcome, there was a little bargain. Otherwise the service was top and always helpful. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. The only drawback is the luxury of a hot shower for 4€/2 minutes, which is understandable given the energy problems at over 2000m altitude. In the evenings, the hut is often visited by ibexes and the view is simply phenomenal. All in all, a great travel destination that I can only recommend.
