for such a price it could be a little better because everywhere is not cleaned thoroughly, there are some cobwebs in the corners or dead flies on the windowsill or floor, the food is edible, but the walls are not crazy, they are very thin, you can hear your colleagues next door talking in half a whisper and you can hear them in one of the rooms very unpleasant smell of feces

Furnishings old but usable. Sanitary facilities are not particularly hygienic - of course it always depends on who is visiting there. Showers work and teachers have their own separate, lockable shower.Food is quite good, had half board, breakfast was particularly varied with muesli over rolls and sweet and savory side dishes.Overall, the stay was pleasant, the area is quiet, although we were almost only there to sleep. You can buy drinks such as beer at the reception in the evening - but my recommendation is to get on the bus for a moment, the nearest Rewe is on the bus route.

Pleasant hostel, the food was delicious. Yes, the rooms are a bit old and there are a bit too few toilets/showers, but the building is from the 60s. Otherwise, cheap drinks, you can rent games and the Tegelsee is nearby.

I don't even know where to start. My class and I were in this youth hostel on our final class trip. The staff was nice, the food was great except for the fact that it was only lightly seasoned but since I come from a household with spicy food this was no surprise. After reading the reviews I was relatively worried but was pleasantly surprised. Breakfast times are from 7-9, so relatively normal. The breakfast was delicious, as was the dinner. The rooms were tidy and all had fly screens on the windows. All I can say about these is that they weren't exactly bad and one or two hornets still found their way into our room, which wasn't surprising considering the natural location. The hostel also has a drinks machine that you can actually use 24/7. There was a 10 p.m. quiet time, but in our case neither our class nor the other classes stuck to it. At the youth hostel there is a small walking path where there is also a bench, from there you could see the sky clearly. There's also a Norma nearby, not too far away, but you can quickly find something by bus either way. All in all it was actually very pleasant.

We have been there for 3 days now.Explored Berlin during the day and went to the youth hostel in the evening.The showers for the ladies would do with a renovation. Going to the “basement” wasn’t so pleasant now. Went to the men's pool with the children.Otherwise we found it very nice there.The Jhb is very good and easy to reach by bus.The breakfast was very tasty. The beds clean.Others call it old-fashioned - we thought it had charm.We would love to come back 🧡

The hostel met our requirements. Only my classmates who were used to hotels had a few problems. However, the service was very friendly and answered every question (no matter how stupid). We were provided with table tennis blades, which were not of the best quality, but were free to use. The six rooms were large enough and were equipped with a table, six chairs and six cupboards. However, there were no sinks in the room, which we really regretted. The WiFi could only be accessed in the dining room, which is also used as a common room. The food is very tasty and offers something for everyone. If the weather is nice, you can also eat outside. The biggest problem was the washing situation. The showers themselves were fine. They were in the basement and were always individual cubicles. Before that there was the option of blow-drying using sockets. However, the shower area was pretty dirty. That might be a point that the hostel could work on. There were insect screens on the room windows to keep mosquitoes out. It was also a shame that there were only 2 sockets for 6 people and that lunch was not included in our already high price.In summary, you can say that you can recommend the youth hostel as long as you don't want it to be too fussy. However, I'm not sure whether you'll even find a suitable hostel.

We stopped here for a quick night on a bike tour. It was very pleasant and we were able to accommodate ourselves quickly.Everything was a bit older but usable, but at 30 € it was rather expensive (plus the hut license which you have to get for 7 €). There was a good breakfast and the people are friendly.Thanks for the hospitality

I was there from November 6th to November 10th, 2023 and it was by far the worst youth hostel I was in. I was there with my class on a school trip/graduation trip and I'll be honest, everyone said it was disgusting here, although they were right. The toilets and showers are simply disgusting, there are neither proper curtains for the showers nor toilet seats for the toilets and there is no need to talk about privacy with a shared bathroom for 6 to 7 rooms. The corridors to the rooms were very small and as others here describe it, “like in a prison” the rooms also feel like “in a prison”. In my opinion, the food was quite ok, you could eat it and it tasted good, but you apparently had a stomach ache afterwards so you had to excrete it again in these toilets that don't even have a lid. The location is quite ok, it only takes 1 hour or 1 1/2 hour to get to the city/downtown of Berlin, but that doesn't matter because you can get to your destination quickly and easily using public transport. Finally, I would like to say the food was the best, even if it meant going to the toilet, everything else was ok there and the showers and toilets should be renovated, beds were ok, only some were dirty or there was something disgusting stuck to the walls. I would say if anyone would like to go here please but I found it disgusting and in the rooms you can hear everything from outside because the walls are so thin.

Tegel is also beautiful. A lot of nature. Room of optimal size, every centimeter used, even with a sink. Shower and toilet in the hallway, as it should be in a classic youth hostel, in my opinion... :-) very nice staff, delicious breakfast.

The blankets are as thin as a piece of paper, you catch a cold straight away and the doors are a disaster, you can hear everything in the hallway and hear the cars from outside, they are tighter and the doors can be smoked, the sheets are dirty and the toilets are also dirty and you could also go to the main train station compare berlin the only thing that was good was the breakfast everything else was just a disaster.

After a trip through Berlin and then through half of Wallachia, we arrived in this “part of Berlin”. A horrific sight awaited us on site: a ruined, old ruin.Taking a step through the squeaky front door, we found a scenario that looked like Vladivostok in 1953. However, we were handed the “room” key in a surprisingly friendly manner (which is why we decided to rate the service with an impressive three stars). The gate to our prison cells opened to us: The “rooms”, lit by lamps as bright and cold as those in a Siberian prisoner of war camp, were secured from the outside against escapes by gigantic steel struts - just like in the bathrooms, which I will talk about in a moment become…In any case, if you didn't hit your head on the cell ceiling or the pillow in bed at night, then you did it on the bedside table. The “room” was also as isolated from the WiFi as the “youth hostel” was from the rest of the world.Unlike the far too large fire blankets with which we “covered” our rock-hard but sticky and rubbery “mattresses” - there was no elastic band - the glasses in the “canteen” were hardly usable as containers due to their tiny size .This very attribute of uselessness can also be assigned to the “food”, but for different reasons, which I believe was due to post-traumatic stress disorder, which not least came from the abominable color combinations of the “rooms” (yellow, highlighted with red and green). , will not dare to discuss.Now, as promised, to the “bathrooms”: If you don’t get poisoned while showering in the “showers,” which are far too small, have rotten “shower curtains,” and are infested with black mold, then you have it while brushing your teeth contaminated tap water, which according to estimates consisted of 75% salmonella. The toilets were also rotten from top to bottom and instead of a normal drain, they could have had the remains of a grenade detonation in it.The amount of compensation we are entitled to should also not be neglected (see: Civil Code (BGB)§ 253 - Non-material damage), which can be justified by the fact that we have been suffering from severe headaches for a week after we forced our faces on the shower heads that were way too low. Thanks to the thin walls, this unpleasant noise, which actually came from the “washing” rooms, could still be heard with a frequency of around 30 seconds even in the forecourt of the prison.To date (9 days after departure, as of October 10th, 2023) there is no trace of the previously discussed compensation for pain and suffering to which we are entitled, which doesn't exactly make our minds happy. However, the blood stains left by the accidents that occurred in the showers clearly indicated these occurrences and, from our point of view, make it only natural for the guests (inmates) to approach them after their stay to pay the money. The lack of those payments leads us to this comparatively not particularly positive assessment.The weather was also hot.

I was there with my class on a school trip in September. First of all, it should be noted that the location of the youth hostel is isolated. The drinks shop can be reached on foot, everything else can only be reached by bus. The rooms are uninhabitable. The beds are uncomfortable and you get back pain. Afterwards you can go for a massage. The floor is dirty. There is dirt everywhere and the walls are thin. Every morning we heard other guests' alarm clocks. In addition, the interior design is unfashionable and horrible. There are fly screens on the windows. These have holes and are infested with animals. They don't do anything. The girls' showers are also in the basement. The curtains in the showers are moldy. There are only three toilets, which are dirty because there are used period items everywhere and everything is smeared. In addition, the food is inedible, you're afraid you'll get food poisoning as soon as you see the buffet. The service itself was still okay and satisfactory.
