We were here as a choir for 3 days and, as always, it was very nice. The food is varied and diverse. The fruit/vegetables are always fresh. There is also a large selection of sausages/cheese/spreads. The buffet is lovingly prepared and is quickly refilled.

The JH is beautifully located and has an ideal outdoor area.Unfortunately, because of our tight schedule, we weren't able to enjoy everything, but we were at least able to spend the evening comfortably outdoors.We had a lovely stay here on our concert trip in the beautiful Ore Mountains and even had a great rehearsal room.We would like to thank you very much for the very friendly welcome and the always helpful approach of all employees.Thank you and all the best to the entire hostel team!Warm greetings from the Erfurt Accordion Orchestra

Everything is too low, the top bed of the loft beds was maybe about 1.50m high (with wood to prevent it from falling down).

Our final trip for the fourth grade took us to Sayda (following a previous recommendation from colleagues) - summary:very nice reception, comprehensive information about offers and processes, varied and rich food, very good organization of the day of the excursion, quick clarification of inquiries - the JH staff was always approachable and helpful, from the management as well as at the reception or in the kitchen. It's definitely not just work by the book here! Children and adults alike enjoyed it very much - we say THANK YOU!

I hereby confirm an excellent rating. As a parent of a school trip, I was with you in the youth hostel from April 17th, 2024 to April 19th, 2024. I would like to thank you and the entire staff in the most polite way for the lovely welcome you received. The rooms were so nice, especially quiet. To really relax. Simply class. Such a great meal........I'm thrilled. There was plenty of everything. Thank you also for your kindness. We were served very warmly at all times. There is even a heated sports hall with modern equipment. Special thanks also go to the operators for providing the campfire including stick cake. Also worth mentioning is the mini golf course and the table tennis facility, the bowling alley and the lounge with a disco corner. So if you're looking for a place of peace and quiet with very, very good care.....would like to enjoy hikes in the forest with fresh air, I definitely recommend the youth hostel at Mörtelgrund near Sayda in Saxony. I always enjoy staying in your house with my family. The accommodation for my 6 kids and for us as parents is simply perfect. Food, accommodation and cleanliness are our priorities and we can only emphasize that. The staff is very nice overall and we think it's particularly great that they also respond to requests such as vegan diets etc. As already described by other users, the beds are not good, the country should probably support the hostel with such a great house. The landscape and associated excursions are always very beautiful and varied. Many thanks to the hostel parents Ulrike & Thomas Fink and the entire team!!! See you again soon🤗

I actually thought about staying overnight at the Hotel Kreuztanne and then went on to the youth hostel and I have to say that I was greeted incredibly courteously by the staff there. Rarely have I felt so much like a guest and so little like a customer. All the big star hotels on the Kammweg couldn't keep up.Otherwise, the JH is surprisingly well equipped (sauna, bowling alley, mini golf) and the single room is equipped as expected.The selection for dinner and breakfast is not gigantic, but admittedly it was only slightly inferior to the other accommodations. In addition, the staff was really very friendly and helpful and spread a good atmosphere.The expectations of a DJH were definitely exceeded, therefore clearly deserved 5 stars.

4 day school tripWe arrived and as soon as we entered the anteroom we noticed: there was an unpleasant smell everywhere and even the toilets smelled better.The food was acceptable but I wouldn't eat the noodles, they either tasted completely like pepper or like cheap ready-made food. The buffet for dinner and breakfast was tolerable.WiFi was only available for teachers and students had to go outside to get a bar of LTE, if at all. The staff is friendly enough but is quite strict. The light initially took 3 seconds + flickering until it came on. The only landline telephone was broken.The beds were sagging and creaky.There were dried chewing gums on the bed linen. Please never lay on the mattresses without bed linen; most of the class had itching and a strange rash afterwards. It's best to bring your own bed linen. The walls are extremely thin.There were no windows in the bathroom.The experience was worth it, but I don't have to do it again now.

We were very impressed with what we were offered. We are newbies when it comes to youth hostels and were pleasantly surprised. A lot of things are reminiscent of a hotel but everything is much more familiar. We are already looking forward to the next visit.P.s. We really felt very comfortable. The youth hostel is located a little outside the town, but various buses run in front of the door. The rooms are functional and all have their own bathroom with shower. The whole team was always there for the guests and especially for the children. From the flexibility of arrival and room design to the breakfast, which is worse in many mid-range hotels, to the price-performance ratio, everything was great. The playroom for the little ones and the table reservation in the cafeteria also ensured a relaxing evening for the adults. The highlight, of course, was all the fresh snow. Sledges are of course available to rent. Highly recommended, especially for families with children. We'd love to come back.

For a JH, the JH Sayda can be rated with five stars. The stay there can be spent in a variety of ways.There is mini golf, table tennis,Volleyball fields, chess fields and a soccer field/basketball field in the sports hall. All utensils can be borrowed at reception.For breakfast there are freshly baked rolls with a comparatively large selection of cold cuts as well as alternating boiled eggs and scrambled eggs.The location of the JH is remote, making it perfect for hikers who want to visit the local history museum in Sayda or the open-air museum in Seiffen.A visit to this JH is particularly worthwhile for larger travel groups and is a relaxing experience thanks to the refreshing air.

I can only partially agree with the so many positive comments about the JH Sayda: the building and rooms are getting very old, which is simply no longer possible at the advertised price of €103 (€76 bed and breakfast, plus €7 in additional energy costs, €10). 2-bed room surcharge, 10 € surcharge per night) and also wants to fit in with the “top” movement on the homepage. Please just compare with, for example, JH Bayreuth or JH Dresden, where we paid less (Bayreuth) or only a little more (Dresden).Yes, and still three stars because the staff is nice.
