Not as the pictures promise. The room was OK, but quite small for 2 people. The lounge/kitchen was only accessible via a steep staircase and is in the basement. You had to pass untidy, smelly rooms. The property appeared neglected. Our room didn't have a balcony and the garden couldn't/wasn't allowed to be used. There was no sea view. There was no sidewalk to the dike. The house is very noisy and is located directly on the street. The reception staff weren't particularly hospitable. The distances to the promised breakfast options are far too far for disabled or elderly people. It's a shame, we had hoped for a few relaxing days, but that wasn't possible.

We spent a weekend there. When we arrived, the room had not been cleaned, despite the agreement. Garbage bags, dirt, beds that were not freshly made. After a call to Pura Vida, it was cleaned very quickly. We were then sitting in the car soaking wet. The whole thing Pleasure lasted a little over 2 hours. The Hotel Pura Vida then invited us to breakfast as an apology. The staff and the hotel made a very tidy impression. You should perhaps consider giving up the house by the sea if there is time or for organizational reasons in such a bad condition. It was really a big disappointment. Pictures from the internet do not correspond to reality.

The “hotel room” is in the immediate vicinity of the dike, so you can quickly reach the sea. That was great! You can park for free “in front of the front door”. Nothing can be said against that either.Unfortunately there is no contact person on site. Our room was equipped with a bathtub in addition to a shower. We wanted to use this on the last evening. We discovered that the drain was broken. So the planning was ruined. The shower drain was also blocked. At least the water still drained away. Our room had a balcony and a veranda with appropriate furniture. These were dusty and full of spider webs. We found the matching covers under the bed by chance. Some information about this would have been nice. There was a small fridge in the room, great! Not so great that there were various dead insects in the fridge. Other insect remains could be found on the walls and ceiling.More on the subject of hygiene. The pillowcase was too small and the pillow was simply “stuffed in”. When you woke up, the pillow was out of the cover and you were basically lying on the “bare pillow”.Due to the condition, it can be assumed that the room was certainly “cleaned” after the last guest. However, that appears to have been a while ago. When we left we informed the staff of the conditions. We were told that the boss would contact us afterwards. We are still waiting for the call today. We had a lovely two days in the area, but we're looking forward to a different place to stay next time!

Luckily we were only there for one night in September. Since the summer of 2023, the house has probably had a new owner who is not taking proper care of it. Check-in is at another hotel in a nearby town. The only way I can explain the positive reviews is that they come from the time when the house was still lovingly looked after. In the hotel room itself we were greeted by a spider in every corner of the ceiling, and numerous other spider remains stuck to the walls and ceiling, which previous guests had probably already crushed. When we looked into the bathroom we saw mold in the shower and it was also a bit dirty. When showering, the water didn't drain, so the water pooled and hair from previous guests came up the drain. The drain urgently needs to be cleaned and there are also various home remedies for spiders. We didn't sleep particularly well either. The house is also very noisy and we couldn't connect to the WiFi at all. The only positive thing is the location right behind the dike and free coffee and tea. You definitely only pay for the location here. If you don't have high expectations, you might be able to endure it for longer than one night. Even at checkout they told us that they knew about the problems in the house and that's why they gave us a discount on the price...

The location directly on the dike is highly recommended. In 5 minutes by the sea. A cute little house with cute rooms and a balcony. Well furnished, cozy. Divided into 2 small rooms, bathroom with shower. A very good pension. We were there over a long weekend and had breakfast in town at the Thiedemann Bakery. Everything was great and highly recommended!!! LG.

We booked a total of three nights in the house by the sea. The mini room was basically clean and the furnishings were northern German. I removed the spiders from the room myself.Since I didn't have a folding rule with me, I can only speculate about the stated room size of 17 square meters. We felt like we had more space in our motorhome.Since the house by the sea was handed over to a new operator, there was no independent reception and check-in and check-out took place at the Pura Vida Hotel. We missed room cleaning during our stay. During a total of three nights, our beds weren't even shaken, the bathroom wasn't cleaned, the towels weren't changed or the trash can was emptied. We complained about this in the main hotel on the second day. We were promised room cleaning for the following day, which was of course a daily service, but unfortunately this didn't take place the next day. When we repeatedly complained, we were put off waiting for a call back because the receptionist unfortunately had no authority to resolve the matter and always referred the problem to her superior. We still miss the promised callback from our superiors. On the day of departure they refused any complaint or accommodation and told us that they had spoken to the cleaning staff and that we had actively refused room service. This is in no way true. We were informed by the staff at the Pura Vida Hotel that the cleaning staff had only started cleaning this week. You should try harder and be receptive to feedback from guests.Unfortunately, the management was again unable to speak to us. On the evening of departure, the hotel receptionist called us back. The hotel management sees no need for action.Well, you can do it that way, but there is another way to be customer-friendly. Unfortunately, the Haus am Meer has lost all hotel status for us. A holiday apartment would have been larger and probably cheaper at €136 per night. That's not how you treat guests! We will definitely not book this hotel again and will not recommend it to others.Unfortunately, the great location on the dike does not make up for the poor management.

Right on the dike, bike path starts right in front of the door, a few minutes to the beach/Kugelbake. No beach area in front of the door, which isn't a problem without children, very quiet location, parking right next to the house. Bicycle parking is also available. We had the room with a balcony facing the garden/dyke and a window onto the hotel opposite. The size is completely sufficient, there is a closet. A very friendly, attentive and warm owner looked after us lovingly over the weekend. The room was equipped with a kettle and accessories, and a bottle of water was also available. The breakfast was balanced and sufficient, everything was added if necessary, but we didn't need the service. The breakfast room may be a bit tight if everyone is having breakfast at the same time, but as early risers we were alone and felt very comfortable. No hotel flair, everything was clean and recommended for couples. The guests are looked after very personally but without intrusiveness. We felt very comfortable and were able to relax.
