This hotel is old but it charms us and the view is great. We received a very friendly welcome. The rooms are bright and clean. The breakfast is simple but sufficient (something for everyone). The house's own lawn with loungers and a boat dock in the lake are amazing. So we were thrilled. We had a room with a balcony and lake view. And enjoyed the view.

Not the most modern hotel, but very charming and with its own boat dock on the lake. The owner was very friendly and gave us tips.Breakfast good too! However, there are not necessarily many pubs and restaurants in the immediate vicinity. You have to drive to the neighboring town. Overall had a very pleasant stay :)

It may not be the best equipped hotel and the breakfast buffet is rather simple, but I still loved this hotel. The owner is friendly, the location is nice and quiet and the private beach is also great. The atmosphere just feels honest. However, I would like to mention that I would only recommend the hotel if you have a car, as Ammerland seems rather remote. Thanks for the stay!

I was very disappointed 😞 with this place. The hotel, which could be used for a lot, is beautifully situated on the lake, but is run down and hasn't been used for years. Unfortunately, no one cares about the website to delete it. Anyone who wants to walk along the lake will also be disappointed 😞 because the residents there have barricaded the entire bank for kilometers and have many prohibition signs. Unfortunately you can only walk on a narrow busy street. The beautiful hotel on the website would actually have been the highlight if it still existed.

You want to wish the owner the very best, because the house breathes atmosphere. Yes, you can see that everything is getting old. It starts with the structure of the building, but also with the seventies charm that the spacious rooms exude: Bible, carpet, towel exchange signs included. There is also a funny-looking sign that says please close the window when the light is on to avoid the lake's mosquitoes in the evening. In the bathroom there are shower fittings with two taps. Yes, you can tell: a lot of money has to be invested here, but hopefully by someone with passion. Because the hotel business itself is very friendly. Despite only staying overnight in transit, we received a very friendly and personal welcome. Our room was great, the mattresses weren't too hard, not too soft, everything was as it should be. With the hotel key we were able to use our own lawn on the lake, which also had loungers and a small jetty into the water. Great! And the breakfast the next day was rich, of course not like in a 5-star hotel, but with everything I like to prepare myself for the day, i.e. fruit, eggs, jam, sausage and cheese. There was also yogurt and muesli etc. We wish the Hotel am See and its owner all the best for the future.
