A nice, rustic hotel with a restaurant where others can follow an example. The breakfast buffet is very generous and the staff is very attentive.

Hotel is okay for its price. Breakfast is good. Peoples are nice. Food in restaurant “Geschmack Sache“. I couldn’t it dish that was named bolognese. In return it wasn’t replaced and I had to pay for it. Mood for evening spoiled, as there is no much alternative around to go to eat. Also prices for “bolognese” with Spätzle is super expensive!.. restaurant- not recommended. Hotel - recommend.

Very old fashioned rooms modern bathrooms. Doesn't fit together. Staff friendly but sometimes inattentive. Thanks to the good glazing, you don't hear anything from outside. The rooms are very noisy. The hotel hallways have attention to detail. Sometimes it smells musty and damp. Simple breakfast, nothing special, poorly arranged, you get the door in the back if you want to help yourself to sausage and cheese. No attention is paid to the function of the coffee machine. In the evening, as a guest, you cannot eat spontaneously because no tables are kept free for hotel guests. You can't sit at the bar either because the area is used for eating. The food is very expensive. The hotel is well located and is ideal for trips by bike or car.

On a short tour through the north early in the morning, I needed a room on the western side of the Elbe as there was no waiting time for the ferry in Glückstadt. After a few rejections, I got a single room here without any problems.Wonderful room, large window front, separate shower and toilet, small. Corridor. The staff is friendly and attentive across the board!!!The kitchen is very good. After a small bread basket with wild lard and herbal oil, there was a greeting from the kitchen with a summery potato salad and a salmon pie. Tasty tasty! The typical matjes dish was complemented by a roasted apple half with cranberries, horseradish foam, a handful of salad and a bowl of wonderful fried potatoes. They were crispy-brown, and not black as is so often the case, they weren't swimming in fat, but were almost dry on the outside and still had a nice potato-like interior.
