The light on the ceiling flickered and kept going out, the shower was massively blocked... the water only came out after hours, which was really not appetizing. Furthermore, this is a wonderful place, nice, clean house and wonderfully quiet.

The inn is located in the middle of Schmidmühlen. The hostess is extremely friendly and helpful and takes care of breakfast lovingly. The rooms in the guest house are spacious and clean. Upon request, there was even the option to charge our electric car at a fair price.

Very very nice friendly welcome. We were personally shown the room by the very friendly owner with a short tour of the garden and swimming facilities (Lauterach).Rooms are a bit older but very spacious and, above all, what I personally find important, very clean.We also climbed into the Lauterach behind the house to cool off 😀 Super greatTo drink, there are non-alcoholic drinks from the fridge in the hallway, as well as beer and shandy, as well as coffee from the machine.Breakfast was delicious for us, everything was fresh and we didn't miss anything.Thank you very much that such accommodation options still exist!!!

The price-performance ratio is clearly too bad. The rooms are very old, shabby and poorly furnished. The breakfast is lukewarm and very poor. The eggs are old, the ham is greasy. If you ask, you can get a warm bottle of beer for 4 euros. At the great Italian restaurant around the corner, the wonderfully freshly tapped pint costs 2.70 euros. You have to pay for the beer in cash because card payment was rejected, for whatever reason. We're not coming anymore...

For this remote and outdated accommodation, the price-performance ratio is not right at all. An overnight stay in a double room without breakfast is not justified at €85. Extremely overpriced. No recommendation for this accommodation.

We arrived at the Golden Lamb today.The welcome from the owners - top and very friendly -The service - top by the owner -The room on the 1st floor - absolutely sufficient and well equipped -I absolutely don't understand the post about 3 weeks ago "with 1 ⭐".Don't write badly afterwards, but ask polite questions on the spot.E.g. garden and river, if accessible the person would write about the danger... and so vice versa.Ask and we'll help!

Overnight stay at the Golden Lamm in SchmidmühlenWe went on a bike tour for 7 days. We divided the stage from Amberg to Regensburg very unequally into Schmidmühlen, according to the great description on the Goldener Lamm homepage, which pointed to a real gem.The rooms were OK, but did not correspond to the pictures on the internet.The garden with deck chairs was not accessible because everything was locked. The garden, which we could see from the room on the 1st floor, also didn't look well maintained.This meant that the swimming area on the Lauterach, which according to the description is supposed to be a great way to cool off after a bike tour, was not accessible to our group after the stage when it was 35°C.Of course, the advertised inflatable boats weren't available either.There was no way to get drinks other than the bottle of water in the room.Sunday in Schmidmühlen!!!! No refrigerator with drinks for guests as is usual in such accommodations.The owner wasn't there and couldn't be reached until 7:30 p.m. that evening.Although the rooms are available until 11:00 a.m., a couple from our group, who had health problems, were lying in bed with dizziness and discomfort and were waiting for a taxi that would take them and their bikes to Regensburg before 10 a.m. " "forced" to leave the room.All in all, nothing, absolutely nothing, matched the loving description on the accommodation's homepage. With the death of the owner, whose obituary is plastered on the homepage, the time of the Golden Lamb is probably over.Overall, our stay there was disappointing and I can only advise anyone not to stop there. It's a farmer's trap and far too expensive for what was on offer.Continue on to Kallmünz, where you will have more and certainly better accommodation options.
