Stopped here today by chance and was more than positively impressed. In the inviting, cozy and rustic ambience, coupled with service that is second to none, we were spoiled beyond measure with culinary delights. It's nice that something like this still exists. We'll definitely be back soon. If you don't eat here, you're missing out. Great!

Cozy inn in an old half-timbered house with a small guest garden and parking lot right next door.Very good cuisine, also with home cooking and friendly staff. Simple but nice and clean rooms.

After a long day of work as a lecturer, I found a nice, relaxing end here on a beautiful terrace surrounded by vines full of dark grapes. I sat warmly and was very looked after by the manager of the house, who gave me excellent advice on the choice of my original Swabian dinner, with a slight touch of French cuisine. The dishes were very fresh and visually beautifully presented, which could only be surpassed by the taste of the same. Thanks to the entire Ochsen team in Ilsfeld for this enjoyment.

Today we were able to enjoy the very tasty food that was exceptionally well decorated/prepared for us. A special thank you also for the explanations of the dishes listed on the menu. The dessert was also a dream.

I was totally surprised to get such an elements meal in this nice little simple hotel! Not only that they make the jam for breakfast and the herb butter that they served with bread as a small starter at dinner from their own herbs! The menu is not only a visual highlight! The cover is made of wood, designed in the shape of a stable door! It is small and clear! But what particularly surprised me is the addition that if you don't find anything on the menu that you like, you should contact the chef! Which chef will make you an extra dish if you request it?!? I've never seen service like this anywhere!!💖👍 I chose the vegetarian dish, hearty tomato cake with Mediterranean vegetables! When it was served I was shocked at first because the vegetable was fennel! I had a "very" bad experience the first time I ate fennel! When I carefully tried it, I couldn't believe it! It tasted wonderful!!!!😋😋😋 The chef converted me from a fennel hater to a fennel lover!!!!!😋😘😍🥰 But the food from the rest of the family was also incredibly well received! They were more than worth the money!!!!💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

Room booked for one night. The room itself was OK but the duvet was much too short and was covered with a winter down duvet at the end of May. Sleep was therefore bad.

We went there for dinner as a registered group. The occasion was a birthday. The next room has a pleasant atmosphere. The table was beautifully set. The small card (which was also agreed upon) was tailored to the wishes of the person celebrating her birthday.The quality of the dishes and the taste were very good. The presentation was also great.We will definitely come back.

10 of us went to the Ochsen for lunch yesterday. We reserved a table at 12:30 p.m. The food finally arrived at 2:20 p.m.Food was very average. Service hasn't been seen for a long time. One drink was completely forgotten. Had to order again at the counter (oh, sorry, that can happen). No information that it takes that long. All tables were occupied. Too few staff/kitchen staff.Communication = catastrophe.It's a shame, we won't be back any time soon.

We were welcomed very friendly. Had a very nice evening with good food and fine wine. A very attentive service accompanied the evening and perfectly rounded off the successful evening. A visit is always recommended. We really enjoyed it and would love to come back.

I was a participant in an event that started at 7:30 p.m. There should be food from 6.30 p.m. The next room was not prepared. The room was then quickly prepared with noise and frustration. Drink orders had to be actively requested, as was the food order, which was then served at the start of the event. I have rarely seen such unmotivated and unfriendly service staff. You probably go to the basement to laugh. In my opinion not recommended, even though the food was tasty but expensive.

The Ochsen in Ilsfeld is a real insider tip, the cuisine is excellent and innovative. There is always something new happening here and you should try it. The saddle of venison is also always very tasty. The culinary wine tastings are outstanding. Here you don't just know something about food (Ralf Häussermann, chef at Der Ochsen in Ilsfeld is a real insider tip, the cuisine is excellent and innovative. There is always something new being tried out here and you should try it, you can also get the Swabian classics elsewhere. The culinary wine tastings are outstanding. Here you not only know something about the food (Ralph Häussermann, chef) but also about the wines (Anja Häussermann, sommelière). Of course, we love coming to the blooming Gärtle under the umbrella in the summer, but also in the winter We feel very comfortable on the cozy corner bench.

Today we were at the Ochsen in Ilsfeld Essen, we ate roast venison, roast wild boar and sauerbraten, everything was delicious 😋 and recommended.
