Cozy, family-run country inn with a friendly atmosphere and very nice, attentive service in a beautiful, scenic location.The home-style food is very tasty. "Grandpa's sauce" on the spaetzle and the homemade bratwursts is particularly popular with the little ones, for whom there are also toys for the short waiting times. The trip is worth it.

A beautiful, quiet place located in the middle of the Spessart, near Marktheidenfeld and the romantic Wertheim,The Grünau Charterhouse is also worth a visit - you feel like you've gone back in time -

I spontaneously stayed there alone for 1 night and felt very comfortable... slept well, it was extremely quiet and the operators were very friendly... I had a double room for single use and a nice new bathroom.For dinner I was at the Gasthaus Hirsch and as a vegetarian I had a large selection of food and also got a smaller portion in a very nice beer garden.I found the breakfast in the hotel delicious, even without homemade sausage, got a great egg, a pot of coffee and a very lovely older lady even brought me a cappuccino...Thank you very much again for your hospitality.

Unfortunately, what other guests have already complained about is true. The showers are extremely small and cannot be used normally for larger people - at least in the room we had. In addition, the shower tray was pleasantly flat, but also very slippery. As someone with a slight mobility disability, I felt very unsafe.The room itself was ok. We found the mattresses comfortable, only the gap between the mattress and the headboard was initially annoying. A positive thing to note is that the slatted frames are adjustable - which is unfortunately not a given.The breakfast was of a very simple standard, the rolls were actually anything but crispy. The service was very friendly. However, by lunchtime everyone seemed a bit overwhelmed. But it was also very crowded. The food was good.Mainly because of the showers, but also because we prefer a higher quality breakfast, we will no longer choose the Hotel zur Sonne for overnight stays in the area.

We were there for 5 days with our dog. As it says on the menu, the hotel and the gastronomy are Franconian down-to-earth. There's no chichi here, but there are nice and cozy rooms, a nice catering team that isn't rude even when you're stressed and even exchanges a few sentences with you. Our dog was welcome in all rooms and the food was excellent and good value for money. I already miss the homemade spaetzle. If you go out for breakfast late, you won't necessarily get all the sausage, but let's be honest, you'd rather eat it all than throw it away. We were always full and didn't feel it was a restriction.We are already looking forward to the next visit and delicious food. The kitchen is currently closed in the evenings Mon-Tues, but there is a good alternative to eating in town that is open then.

What a guest house, incredibly creatively detailed and comfortably furnished in the hallways, where the positive impression in the very extensively comfortably furnished and very well-kept, clean rooms rounds off a great overall experience.A real treat to spend the night here.Small defects, such as the non-working radio with clock installed next to the bed and a slightly torn blind in the bathroom of room 21 were really difficult to find.However, one problem that is worth mentioning and important to fix is the direction of escape indicated by signs on the first floor in the event of a fire, but unfortunately the door to the upper terrace is locked.In an emergency, this would become a deadly trap.A highly recommended accommodation.☺️🥰
