Went there for one night for a birthday party. We booked through HRS. Unfortunately we couldn't be given a room for 2 adults and 2 children as booked. It was purely a double room. In my opinion, this mistake by the hotel was not made up for. The room itself is too bright at night. The only positive thing was the breakfast.

We were in the hall from the VDK, had delicious food, etc. The tables were also very nicely set up! Everything is at ground level and is easily accessible for wheelchair users and people with walkers, there is even an extra toilet upstairs (the others are in the basement)

I was actually always enthusiastic about the residence.However, there has been a new manager for a few weeks and since then, in my opinion, the service and food have not been what they used to be.I would describe it as aloof to unfriendly.Too bad,

We stayed at the Residenz-Hotel Wittmund for one night for a wedding celebration.We were greeted very warmly, the staff at the reception were in a good mood and extremely friendly.We moved into the room, which faces the south, in the afternoon of a very sunny day. When we entered the room, we were overwhelmed by the build-up of heat in the room. Of course, the hotel can't do anything for warm, sunny days, but precautions can be taken so that the room doesn't heat up so much. One option would have been to make it dark in the morning.Furthermore, the room was unfortunately not particularly clean. Not that I'm picky, but I think socks from a previous guest and thick layers of dust should be removed before the next guests occupy the room.After checking into the room, we went to the wedding celebration, which lasted late into the night.Unfortunately, when we went to the room, we couldn't turn on a light (there was a switch, but no ceiling light), so we had to look for other light sources in the dark and found them as bedside lights on the bed.The next morning, I went to take a shower, the next surprise. Unfortunately towels are only for one person instead of two people.Now for breakfast. We had breakfast around 9am.Basically, the breakfast offers everything you could want. However, the hotel should please think about the refrigeration of individual foods. Cold cuts are placed on a cold pack, but this is of little use if the cover is not there. Accordingly, the cold cuts (which had been available since 6 a.m.) looked the way they did. Gray and colorless.We felt like we were being watched by the breakfast server, who was constantly sitting at the counter and constantly staring into the breakfast room. Here we would have liked her to pay more attention to her tasks.Of course, all of these are just small things, but we think it all adds up.Because of this, we decided to make our displeasure about all of these things known when checking out.The very friendly receptionist understood our displeasure and was visibly surprised that such topics were being discussed. Doesn't seem to be the norm.We remained so that we did not pay for the time being. She wanted to discuss these issues with her boss, as she also found our complaints to be appropriate and could not adequately accommodate us within her means.So we agreed that I would be sent an invoice.The invoice also came 2 days later.And here, in my opinion, is the next disappointment, if not “insolence”.I was given a whopping €8 discount from the original price.Here I have to say, it would have made more sense to write a statement instead of granting me this mini-discount.Of course I will pay the bill but also not recommend this hotel to my family and friends.I tried to calm my displeasure over the phone with a clarifying conversation, but unfortunately the hotel wasn't willing to do that.Too bad!!!

We stayed there for 4 nights during a trip to some islands.We liked it a lot. We would particularly like to emphasize the friendliness of all the employees and the great food at all meals. The cuisine was excellent.The central location for excursions is also not to be despised. We can only recommend it.

We took or passed the East Frisian high school diploma in Wittmund about 4 weeks ago😊. We stayed at the Hotel Residenz. Very, very nice, attentive and hard-working staff, very good service. Excellent tasting and plentiful food. We hope the hotel stays in operation for a long time. We will be back.

Was there for dinner in the evening during an event. The staff is outstanding. They paid attention to every detail of the presentation and served us excellently. It can't be better. The food was excellent and you can recommend the dishes without hesitation. The price/performance ratio is unsurpassed. Highly recommended.

The beautiful hotel is located in the middle of the city, the rooms are cozy, clean and quiet despite the central location. Good cuisine and very friendly staff invite me to my next visit.
