The location near the lake is very nice. But the buildings clearly still have the old Eastern charm. Much of it is partly dilapidated. But the terrain is beautiful.

We celebrated our wedding here with around 80 guests and were thrilled! The large area and the hall were beautifully prepared. The operators and especially your daughters prepared everything wonderfully. Even if the weather wasn't good, they were always approachable and relaxed throughout the preparation and even on the day of the wedding. The food was great, the cold fish platter and the salmon from the local fisherman from Blankensee are definitely worth highlighting. But the three-tier wedding cake was not only beautiful to look at but also incredibly delicious and eaten within a very short time. Since the railing is large and there are few neighbors, the DJ was able to play music until the early hours of the morning and we celebrated and danced. You made it an unforgettable day!

We spent 5 days on an orchestra trip to the FiB and felt very comfortable here.If you expect a hotel feeling, you certainly won't find it here. But we really enjoyed the clean rooms with their own bathrooms (including a warm shower), the rehearsal rooms with good acoustics (!) and, above all, the beautiful grounds in a wonderful location.The operating family is very friendly and accommodating. In addition, extensive renovations are being carried out in one wing of the building, so that even more demanding guests will certainly get their money's worth here in the future.We have already made reservations for next year and will definitely come here more often.

You could charge an entrance fee for this.This place seems to be under monument protection. If you want to experience a GDR youth hostel that has remained unchanged for 40 years, you have come to the right place.Everything is in its original condition. In the bathrooms the shower was black with mold. In the so-called “multi-purpose hall” you can breathe the morbid charm of the past. The maintenance of the fire extinguishing equipment has been overdue for 4 years. Who cares, after all there are fire extinguishers. Hopefully no asbestos will trickle out of the open ceilings.Pure time travel - have fun.

We had a very nice time and would love to come back.My 5th grade class was able to discover and experience a lot. What makes this leisure center so special?1. The village and surrounding area is great. In the middle of nature. The children can move freely in the village. The Blankensee is beautiful. Whether trees, plants or animals, there is an incredible amount.2. The area offers plenty of space to develop. There are no other classes, which is incredibly relaxing. If you ask nicely, anything is possible: barbecue, campfire, gym, green classroom and much more3. The trips are fun and informative. The children were really able to learn a lot. The best part was the visit to the game reserve. The tour was child-friendly, appealing and very interesting. But fishing, rallying, village museum and hiking are also great options.4. Every room has its own bathroom that is really great. Quickly provides peace of mind in the evening. This meant that all children could travel because Muslim families also knew their children were well accommodated.Yes, there are construction sites, but how can anything become more modern and better if nothing is built. In addition, the rooms are only for sleeping.5. The price is unbeatable for what is offered. My class was thrilled.We had a great time and I'm happy to come back again and again. The conversations with the employees were very friendly.Thank you!

Children's review: the people were very nice and friendly, the condition of the house was good, the food was very tasty and varied, the donkeys were treated well and cared for. And the horses were very friendly and they had a lot of exercise. The rooms were cleanly furnished and comfortable. The drinks such as iced tea, orange juice and apple juice were not as sweet but were healthier. There were mosquitoes and red ants. (the ants were with the donkeys) it wasn't that nice but generally everything was very good.

The food and the environment were good. But the rooms were really borderline poor (in terms of cleanliness), our room was also moldy and shouldn't have been rented out at all, actually. But the staff was really very friendly! It's just a youth hostel and not a 5 star hotel, but there shouldn't be any mold!

We were there with our class for 3 days. The conditions are terrible. Mold everywhere in the house, no hot water. Everything is dirty. There are cables hanging out of the walls and there is a very unpleasant smell in all the toilets. But the mold is the worst. These are unacceptable conditions. Simply disgusting. Not recommendable!!!!

The conditions here are really bad. Anyone who wants a GDR feeling will get it here. We were first greeted unfriendly and then we weren't even allowed to go to our rooms because they were still being "cleaned", but then we found hair in the shower and in the food. There is also enough mold here. It is very dangerous for children here because, for example, there are open cables hanging around here and free nails. In some cases, a light switch was also tried to be reattached with duct tape. The mattress protector is also missing for the mattresses. The walls are partly brown and the faucets are rusting, the shower doors are not functional and there is no hot water here. As I also noticed, the animals are much too skinny.

Super nice youth hostel! There are donkeys and a cat, I didn't need much else. The grounds are beautiful and perfect for school trips. There is a sports hall where you can do sports without an evening time limit. I would come back!

A beautiful group house in beautiful surroundings. There were 30 of us staying on the upper floor in 2-4 bed rooms with half board. The price was unbeatable. It was warm, quiet, the lounge was great for our group.The boss made everything possible.Highly recommended.

In September 2022 I was with a group for further training at FiB. GDR youth hostel in its original condition... Lunch included was a classic children's meal, Spirellis with tomato sauce... The breakfast buffet also reminded me of my youth in the GDR, ok, the rolls were warm. Despite booking a single room, I had to share the room with a colleague. At night my bed fell apart so I had to put the mattress on the floor. The next day I described the situation to the receptionist. There was no concession from the house, I was charged the full price, which according to the internet is only valid from 2023. As an employee, she would not be allowed to change the price. The employee didn't come up with the idea of calling the boss and asking what to do in such a warranty case - bed broken. My objections about the uncorrected price were boldly countered, I would have received coffee and cake for further training etc. ... All in all, a huge disappointment, because even for €40 you can satisfy customers if you want, if you at least implements its own offers cleanly.Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the facility in any way, unless late-born children want to experience the original GDR holiday camp feeling.Unfortunately you have to give one star.Jens

I was there from May 20th, 2022 to May 22nd, 2022 with a group of girls (9 kids and 2 adults).It was great. We were so full and the kids really enjoyed it too.A very loving family. All wishes were fulfilled.The surroundings are wonderful. We hiked a lot. The lake, castle park, beekeeping, eel smokehouse, master bakery, ponds, bird tower, game reserve, nature park, farm museum, bicycles, inline skaters, beach volleyball, etc.If you expect a 5 star hotel and don't think much of nature and don't like hiking and exploring, you should check into a resort on Mallorca.This was my fourth time there and I will visit it often.
