Positive: Good beer (house brand and Pilsner Urquell on tap). Relaxed atmosphere. Decent tarte flambée. Decent Greek salad.Negative: Schnitzel is a finished product from the deep fryer, the potato salad is also from the refrigerator and is too sour.We only stop here if we just want a drink or definitely want tarte flambée. Otherwise it's a disappointment compared to what the chestnut once was.

The currywurst was inedible, it had a completely rubbish taste and the bite into the sausage was just 🤮. The tarte flambée was good. The house brand beer wasn't particularly good either. The fries were very tasty but at 5.60 euros they were way too expensive.

This beautiful ensemble has been brought back to life in a modern way and with great attention to detail. Beautiful guest apartments with panoramic windows overlooking the lake and meadow, a cozy bar and an inviting beer garden with delicious food and drinks invite you to linger. An ideal starting point for exploring the beautiful Neuruppin area by bike or on foot.Wholeheartedly recommended!

Super nice restaurant with a great music hall right on Lake Ruppiner. You can also swim there in summer. World-class musicians come there to play. It's worth a visit.

We went there for a beer and went back the next day for currywurst fries after a day at the lake. Very good! Super nice and recommended without any problems. Great for a stop by bike or hike in the area or just because.Thanks also to the nice service! Best people there!

Full marks for this beautiful location and its fantastic team! I had reserved a table in the beer garden for a larger group (20 people), but unfortunately it rained all day. The team put a lot of thought into it and set up a large table for us in the interior (behind the pretty little bar) and set it up beautifully so that we could celebrate my husband's 50th birthday in a historic and totally relaxed atmosphere. Big thanks again to the bar, the service and the kitchen - it was an unforgettable and very tasty evening, we would love to come back! <3

The hotel and Biergarten „Kastanie“ is an excellent place to stay and explore the region around Neuruppin in style. Rooms are renovated in a modern but practical chic. We were lucky to stay in one of the rooms with a Panorama Window looking out to the back of the garden facing the lake. The large window bench invites to sit and enjoy the landscape from the room in not so good weather. All rooms have kitchen areas equipped with the nessecary. But you don’t want to sit inside your own room! Because the beer garden and the bar are nice places to meet the super friendly staff or neighbors of the village. We initially wanted to stay two nights over 1. May but added another because we felt so welcome and at easy in this beautiful new hotel.

Absolutely beautiful beer garden - we are excited when the restaurant/hotel opens again. Very nice owners - just the right thing after a bike hike around Lake Ruppin.
