Mega location and more of a hotel feel than a youth hostel! Great staff and ambience and prices that are very reasonable!

Overall, my son and I were quite satisfied. Unfortunately I deducted a star for the food and our room. The room seemed old, but was clean. As others have written, it's fine for a short stay. In my opinion, the breakfast was completely okay, although more could be offered for lunch and dinner. Still, you can't complain for the price. The location is good and the staff was very nice and helpful, which made the stay pleasant. We'll definitely come back!

I had booked a room in the youth hostel for the last weekend in September and, despite having a single room, was surprised with a 2x2 double bed room. Apart from the two double beds and a table with four chairs, there was nothing else in the room. But there was WiFi throughout the building. The room was clean and I took advantage of the breakfast offer that weekend. The breakfast was rich and left nothing to be desired. Since I was traveling during the day and only used the room for overnight stays, the amenities in the room were sufficient for me. You must not forget that it is a youth hostel and not a hotel.

Actually a nice youth hostel...First of all, praise to the manager of the hostel. She is extremely friendly and helpful. The kitchen also does a good job as the food was tasty and plentiful. The ambience looks very modern and is well suited for families.BUT: We had booked a family room (5 people) in category IV+. In hindsight this was a huge mistake as the room was anything but inviting. We felt transported back to our school days 25 years ago. Nothing has been renovated in this room since then. The furniture was just as old and the beds were terribly uncomfortable. The room was bare and quite run down. The "mini" bathroom was a real imposition for 5 people. Why can't these rooms be renovated? There was probably enough money for a chic new building, and the rooms there are really great. That really ruined our days. It is questionable whether we will come back. It will probably depend on whether we get a higher category room or not.

The food was so unhealthy and if you, as a vegetarian, didn't want to eat plain pasta (there was Bolognese) and asked for an alternative, you were then called super arrogant...The staff was generally very unfriendly. And if you don't want to eat a completely unhealthy, fatty diet and are not vegan or vegetarian or eat lactose-free, I can recommend this youth hostel because it is very well located.Otherwise, unfortunately not because for me as an athlete, food also plays an important role and it was just disgusting.

We were here with a camp of about 240 people. We felt very comfortable. Service around the food was great and very friendly. Food selection just as rich and delicious. Very child friendly. Great location on the Rhine, yet close to the center and well connected. Gladly again.

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio here is no longer right. We were a bit shocked at the condition of the bathroom.

First of all I would like to talk about the food, the food is unreasonable if you only want CUSTOMERS to stay for 1-2 days then you do it exactly the way they do it here. I don't need to say anything more about this youth hostel.Next I would like to talk about the HIGHLY FRIENDLY staff :)I find it a catastrophe to dictate to several adults when and where they should be.I don't want to complain about sleeping at 10 p.m., which I find completely appropriate. It is still an impertinence for me, as a 47-year-old man, to forbid myself from smoking a cigarette 5 minutes in front of the youth hostel at 11:20 p.m.I feel trappedUnfortunately I can't give it less than 4 stars because then the recession won't be relevant. Or is not displayed. Hence probably the 4.1 star rating.
