A well-run house with guest rooms, a farm shop and a restaurant, which we were unfortunately only able to use to a limited extent because we had booked from Sunday to Tuesday. The cleanliness, the spacious property, the well-equipped guest rooms and the friendliness of the people characterize the house. We arrived on bicycles and were thrilled by the area between Germany and the Netherlands.

“Eat until you give up,” is what it says on the Hofgut’s advertising page. In this case, potato pancakes were offered at a price of €12.20 per person, with a choice of applesauce, turnip cabbage, salmon or herb quark.We chose a portion of applesauce or herb quark for the potato pancakes at a proud price of €3.90 each.The side dishes are served in mini bowls (half filled) and are not included in the “all you can eat” program.The dishes (served in portions of three small potato pancakes) tasted crispy and good.I/we didn't like the fact that after only two reorders we couldn't get any more potato pancakes.It was said succinctly, “we are sold out”.Given the apparently no longer available quantity, they should have told us beforehand!Overall, we rate the meal as too expensive, especially because of the high-priced minimal side dishes.

At the Genholter Hof we have reserved a table for 7 people. The food that was served was very tasty, but the quantity wasn't enough - especially for these prices. So if you're hungry, it's better to eat something beforehand ;)We also want more places to sit outside. Big plus point for the homemade cake.

We had booked two rooms for one night. Communication regarding check-in via key safe was excellent. The rooms were well-equipped and comfortably furnished, the beds were very comfortable. We were particularly impressed by the cleanliness and size of the bathrooms.

The farmer's cafe is rustic and comfortably furnished. We reserved a table for 9 people for the asparagus buffet. We were warmly welcomed and had our drinks quickly. The staff overall was very friendly and accommodating. When eating, the dishes used were quickly cleared away and orders were brought quickly.At the beginning there was a big rush at the buffet. We stood in line and had to wait a while. It happened that some bowls were empty. The service staff tried very hard to always fill up the food as quickly as possible.There were ham rolls, salmon and asparagus wraps, asparagus quiche, asparagus salad, cooked and fried asparagus, hollandaise sauce and melted butter, potatoes, scrambled eggs, cooked and raw ham, small pieces of turkey escalope, cream of asparagus soup and mixed vegetables. Dessert was pudding and strawberries with rhubarb.All the dishes were very tasty. Still, I was a little disappointed. I was expecting something special, something that you don't do all the time at home. I also make the dishes from the buffet at home during the asparagus season. For €34.50 per person I found it not varied enough and too simple.

I've never stayed at the Genholter Hof before. But the breakfast is perfect, the service is great, friendly and always with a smile. Highly recommended. I had breakfast there with friends. Price performance was really good and everything was fresh.
