We made a spontaneous decision and came across Fr. Scheel's Grashöfle. She was totally uncomplicated and we were welcomed very nicely and lovingly with detail. There was a welcome package for our dog. Great location, apartment very clean and very well equipped kitchen. Beautiful garden, just right for people who are looking for peace and quiet and want to enjoy nature.

A true gem in the beautiful Bavarian Forest. The guesthouse is cozy and furnished with great attention to detail. The large garden offers many beautiful places to linger and relax and is simply stunning. With her very friendly manner, Ms. Scheel immediately makes you feel welcome and in good hands. The location is the perfect starting point for beautiful hikes. We'd love to come back.

The idyllic Grashöfle is worth a trip at any time! The farmhouse, in which, in my opinion, everyone who is looking for peace and comfort in the middle of the nature of the Bavarian Forest feels comfortable, is the wonderful home of Bettina Scheel, the owner of this extraordinary guesthouse.Professional hospitality, excellently rich and varied food and always available to help and advise... Bettina Scheel ensures that your guests continually remember the Grashöfle as a Bavarian gem - and are already planning their next journey when they leave!

Beautiful little apartments in a charmingly converted and stylishly renovated old farmhouse, practically in the middle of the Bavarian Forest National Park. Many hiking trails can be reached directly from the house or with a short bus ride. Perfect for a spring or summer vacation in the Bavarian Forest - I can't speak for winter sports enthusiasts... 🤗A large, naturally growing garden is almost its own natural recreation area, with its own small pond and extensive vegetation. The landlady, Bettina Scheel, is very helpful and approachable. She has also set up a small “market of beautiful things” in the house where you can find almost everything you need for your well-being - and on a sustainable basis. The felt and blue print items are particularly worth a look.Unfortunately, we weren't able to enjoy breakfast together during these Corona times, but if it were to be offered again, it promises a unique enjoyment beyond what you might be used to in normal guesthouses or hotels.Highly recommended. We will definitely be happy to come back.

Very lovingly furnished guesthouse right next to the Bavarian Forest National Park. Very good breakfast buffet - with high quality food (not the usual hotel breakfast with plastic-wrapped mass-produced goods, but individually selected delicious cheese, fresh fruit salad and homemade jam). Very cozy and stylish. All rooms/holiday apartments are individually and artistically decorated. Flexible management also for groups, children and dogs. Good starting point for trips to the national park - 4 km from the information center / animal enclosure & treetop path. If you don't want to cook in the holiday apartment, I can highly recommend the Italian restaurant Luigi - with the famous giant pizza - which is within walking distance. Other good restaurants and shopping opportunities can be found in the neighboring town of Neuschönau. The next train connection is in Spiegelau and the national park hedgehog bus system gives you flexibility in the park. The Grashöfle also has a beautiful large garden with a small pond and a Finnish sauna. The garden also borders directly on the national park, from which you can go on many interesting hiking tours.

The Grashöfle in St Oswald is located right on the edge of the Bavarian Forest National Park in a small town. St Oswald offers rather little infrastructure - the owner tries to compensate for this with extensive services such as a fridge filled upon arrival upon request. There are hedgehog buses in the national park and there is an electric car that can be rented locally for cheap (30 per day). The owner and operator is very interested in design and art, which is reflected in the very loving furnishings and the selection in the 'Market of Beautiful Things'. The small shop in the house is worth a visit even if you are not a guest. There is rare blueprint, enamel, pottery, linen and small, delicate things made of wood and wool but never kitschy. The holiday apartments are available from small to larger, even if you are lucky for shorter stays. Reserve! The breakfast buffet is excellent with very high-quality selected cheese and fruit salad, muesli, love at a star level and down-to-earth. Very comfortable, good with dogs.An overall beautifully located and quiet courtyard for people with a sense of beautiful garden design and attention to detail. Very well organized and ambitious. We have been coming every year for 20 years and find consistently high quality.

A beautiful cabin in nature. Our room was good and enough space. It was certainly clean but you live in nature, so spiders and flies also live with you. ;) very, very nice hostess.
