My partner and I stayed here from September 20th to 22nd, 2024 and had a room with a view of the Brocken.The room was tastefully decorated and everything was clean.The location of the guesthouse is excellent in the center and yet quiet, even for sleeping.We really enjoyed the breakfast room with a view of the castle and an excellent breakfast.We experienced a polite and courteous manner from the staff.Thank you.

Nice little hotel, a bit old, but clean and cozy. We spent a lovely weekend here. Our motorcycles were safely parked in the inner courtyard. The parking lot didn't cost us anything extra.We had booked an overnight stay with breakfast. The breakfast buffet offered a decent selection. The rolls were very tasty. We were satisfied.The best thing, however, is the great location right in the center.

ATTENTION UNSERIOUS BUSINESS CONDUCT!!!A booking from February for mid-December was canceled by the hotel at the end of November due to alleged overbooking.If you are looking for reliable accommodation, it is better not to book here.It's a rogue who thinks that higher overnight prices can be achieved at the moment.Several reviews make this dubious business practice clear!!!Unfortunately, it is not possible for me to recommend you under these circumstances.

Our booking was canceled by the hotel 48 hours before arrival, supposedly due to an overbooking due to a technical problem. Thanks to the support and use of the booking platform, we were able to solve the problem at short notice without any additional costs for ourselves, despite the higher overnight price, otherwise we would have been left without accommodation. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be an isolated case when you read other reviews. Absolutely out of the question! The rest cannot be evaluated. I booked last year but couldn't go on the trip due to illness. Despite several emails and reports to the police, I never got the advance payment back. No one could ever be reached by phone. I can only advise against it!!! Beware of fraud!!!5 stars minus from me!!!

We booked our vacation here for New Year's Eve 2023 with a group of 11 people at the beginning of 2023. A day ago we called the hotel and asked what the parking situation was like there. We were informed that our booking does not appear to be recorded in the system. We have already paid the money in full. We have not yet received a cancellation or refund. Underground. Let's see if and when the money will be paid back.

We only stayed here to visit the Christmas market, but we were totally satisfied.The location is great - within walking distance of the city, very central. Parking available for a fee, but the car is also parked in the inner courtyard.We received a very friendly welcome and service and were given great tips about the city. We thought the family atmosphere was great.The furnishing of the rooms may be a matter of taste, but somehow it fits perfectly into the Harz and the hotel - in any case everything is very neat and clean and with a holiday feel-good factor. The beds and pillows are super comfortable - we rarely slept so well in hotel beds. The breakfast was manageable but attractively prepared and everything was available, very tasty regional rolls, some cereals may be missing. The breakfast room was very cozy and we now lovingly decorated it for Christmas and even welcomed us with little Santa Clauses on the table - you felt very welcome.Our contact and booking directly through the hotel worked really well.But I think the owner had also changed, so to the negative reviewers: maybe. Just test again. I/we will definitely come back. Absolutely recommended

We had booked three nights for December 2023, which were also confirmed.Now in mid-October 2023 we will receive an email with cancellation. They can't accommodate us. Without giving reasons. No one can be reached by telephone either on the landline or on the mobile number provided. 5 stars minus!

Location and ambience is ok.Breakfast very good. Service unfriendly. Reception not occupied. No one can be reached at the telephone numbers provided in case of an emergency. Emails are not read every day either.Unfortunately we don't have any recommendations.

In September 2022. Unfortunately, I cannot currently rate the rooms, service or location and there is a reason for that.And that's exactly why we get five stars...We had booked two nights for September 4th and 5th to take the steam train up the Brocken with our junior. Unfortunately, the train service was stopped due to the forest fire on the Brocken and we canceled at very short notice and received a voucher for our two unused nights.Chapeau, for so much flexibility, goodwill and customer friendliness!I'm looking forward to my (postponed) stay there and will report back...Addendum in August 2023.Now that we have finally been able to be guests here in the house, we are completely thrilled.Very friendly staff, the rooms (we had a three-bed room) are attractive and have flair, the breakfast is ok. and the location of the hotel is perfect. You step onto the street and you are in the center, after a few meters you will find a large selection of restaurants and bars and after 10 minutes you are at the Brocken-Bahn station.Overall, a fair price-performance ratio!We will definitely come back and then definitely for longer...
