The Restaurant Zur Traube is an experience. You become aware of this as soon as you look at the rustic, comfortable guest room covered by a vine grove. As a natural enjoyment host, great value is placed on regional organic quality. A requirement that is definitely fulfilled when you look at and taste the food. This is also the case with my friend's beef broth as a starter, and the fried salmon trout fillet as the main course, or the cheese cream soup I ordered as a supplement from Hück and the cheese spaetzle as the main course. The whole thing was crowned by a wide range of regional wines.

Six of us (hiking group) stayed overnight in the Korf guesthouse and had dinner in the Zur Traube restaurant. We rate both with 5 stars, and all 6 of us were particularly impressed by the quality of the food.In detail - the guest house:Small hotel in a prime location with a beautiful forecourt where you can linger and have a drink in beautiful surroundings. The rooms are small but sufficient. Our bathroom was brand new and completely renovated and was one of the best I've ever had in a hotel. The window, which is narrow but can be opened completely, is also very pleasing. (For the sake of completeness, I have to say that other rooms had a rather old bathroom that had not yet been renovated and had no outside window.)The guest house is directly connected to the “Zur Traube” restaurant via a passage. Breakfast is also eaten there, which was absolutely okay. The restaurant:Very nice ambience with vines on the light-flooded ceiling (glass roof?) As already mentioned, we were very satisfied with the food. Given the quality and the salad included depending on the dish, the price was also absolutely okay. The waitresses are friendly but a bit slow. I picked up the drink I ordered from the counter twice. It was standing there and there was no one who wanted to bring it to me. Paying also took a long time until someone came. All in all, it was still within reason and you also have to remember that we ate at prime time. (It got pretty crowded at 7 p.m. and then the volume level went up. If you can arrange it, you should come at 5:30 p.m.)Conclusion: Unkel is very nice and if I come again, both the Guesthouse Korf and the Traube will be the first choice.

I ordered a medium rare steak and a soup as a starter. The soup had hardly any taste and arrived only lukewarm, but the steak hit the spot... medium rare, as already mentioned, ordered and it arrived almost cooked through. The onion sauce on top didn't taste like the meat at all. The fried potatoes are barely salted and you can actually leave out the “roast”.The food is in the bottom drawer there, I also tried my companion's burger, as if the patty was covered in salt, inedible. After I politely mentioned the points to the waitress, I was promised a free dessert on the house, but that didn't come either. No recommendation, the “chef” should try to change jobs, because serving customers such disasters is absurd.

Excellent food. Typically rural in Germany. Not a tourist restaurant. Rooms were not used and cannot be rated.

I stayed in Gastehouse Korf two nights and the hotel is an okay place to stay over. It's dead centre in the middle of Unkel and very close to the riverside of the Rhein, wich has a beauiful view. Breakfast is simple but extremely tasty. The restaurant on the other hand is another story. I had two diners there and couldn't fault the dishes at anything. Just marvelous and delicious. I wish I knew a restaurant that had such a great menu. I definetly would return here just for the food. And the service isn't too fast (maybe not enough staf), but the food makes up for the waiting. This hs become one of my favourite restaurants in Europe, and I do travel a lot!So my rating is 4 stars (mix of the hotel and restauant)
