Haus am Hochwald

We had 2 apartments next to each other on the first floor (FeWo 3 and 4). It was for 5 nights for a ski vacation. Each apartment is for up to 4 people, but is still very good for 2 adults + 3 children. Highly recommended for a week of skiing but also in summer.Here are the particularly positive points:-------------+ LOCATION:-------------+ On the edge of Mittenwald directly at the starting point of hikes in the mountains/forest. The nearby Lautersee is very easy to reach on foot. Perfect for a short hike with children.+ but relatively close to the center: down the stairs through the garden or (nice alternative) through the spa park right next to the house and you're in the city. REWE in 10 minutes / old town + church in 15 minutes on foot from the house.+ Mittenwald SKI AREA in <10 minutes by car: good ski area for advanced children, but the upper drag lifts are difficult for small children (long and steep)+ Leutasch SKI AREA in 20 minutes by car: we had to use the first 3 days when there was no snow in Mittenwald. Ideal for advanced children: only 1 lift and one piste but relatively long (the descent can be done in 2-3 minutes, but for children it takes around 10 to 20 minutes) and with parallel blue and red sections, so it fits small (5 years) and older children (10 years). As a family with several children, you meet again and again and no one gets lost. Chairlift is easy for the kids with nice staff at the bottom and top who are happy to help the kids. There is also a nice alpine pasture (Katzenkopf) at the arrival of the chair lift.+ INDOOR SWIMMING POOL: Alpenbad in Leutasch, 20 minutes by car, highly recommended-----------------------------------+ HOUSE / APARTMENTS:-----------------------------------+ large apartment with lots of closets in the bedroom and living room+ large kitchen-living room (you can eat here with 6 people without any problem, it was even possible for 8, but then it was a bit cramped at the table but still OK)+ Living room with a sofa bed for 2 (even possible for 3 children after consultation with the nice landlady) can be used as a children's room (sofa bed does not have to be folded up every day) as there is enough space in the kitchen/living room+ Apartment not recently renovated, some of the furnishings are a bit older, but everything is in a very good and clean condition+ good equipment in general, especially in the kitchen: dishwasher (in apartment 4, but not in apartment 3), microwave, toaster, filter coffee machine, enough pots/pans, ...+ All important things such as bed sheets, towels, kitchen towels, toilet paper, dishwashing liquid, salt, pepper, hand soap are available+ rather bright apartment with wide windows (except for the small skylight in the bathroom in apartment 4) and enough lighting in all rooms+ Ski equipment can dry in the garage directly in front of the house+ 4 wide parking spaces (1 per apartment) directly in front of the house+ WiFi with good reception (definitely in FeWo 4, apparently a little less in FeWo 3)-------------------------------------------------- --------------------- Small things that could possibly be optimized:-------------------------------------------------- --------------------- DISHES: A few dishes (4 plates, 4 forks, 5 glasses, etc.)  You have to wash them by hand after every meal or run the dishwasher half empty- WASTE SEPARATION: Although there are all the usual garbage cans in the garage (paper, packaging, organic, glass, rest) there are only 2 garbage cans in the kitchen. Since the kitchen-living room is large, a larger trash can with 4 compartments could be provided. This would make it easier to separate waste at home.- The very small skylight in the bathroom of apartment 4 (not ideal for light and ventilation) could perhaps be replaced with a larger window during the next renovation

We felt at home and will definitely come back!Apartment 3 is large and spotlessly clean!Nothing is missing.The location is great.It was a really nice vacation for us ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️

If you need peace and quiet, this is the place for you. The view over Mittenwald is fantastic. The apartment leaves nothing open. What more do you want. We'd love to come back!

We were very satisfied with the care provided by Ms. Jennewein.We have recovered a lot.Apartment 2 is very cozy and the balcony view of the mountains is magnificent!There is a beautiful spa park right next to the house and Lake Lautersee is only about a 10-minute walk away.Only to be recommended!
