So I have to say a lot of praise here. The Fehrenbach family are very hard-working people. We have been shopping in the farm shop there for years. The ham is a pleasure for us. When we are in the Black Forest, we always like to come by (even for a little chat).

That's how it can work too!Our 10-day stay with the grandchildren ended shortly before it began. Two days before our arrival, I asked Ms. Fehrenbach in an email that we would like to take the bed linen and towels from her and have the final cleaning carried out for a fee.I also had the (outrageous?) request as to whether it would be possible for the beds to already be made.Answer from Ms. Fehrenbach (quote):We are not a hotel or restaurant and I don't know if you are right with us. People with high standards usually don’t fit in.”The bed linen is provided by her, but she has to get it herself. We could easily look for something else. She didn't discuss towels or possible final cleaning at all.The latter question also remains open on the homepage! It is up to each family to judge my description for themselves. Our conclusion:We no longer had the feeling of being welcomed as guests! In fact, we felt completely uninvited. For this reason we preferred not to travel and stayed at home. It's just a good thing that we hadn't paid the €200 down payment in advance.

Sausage (especially the black sausage), bacon and beef are all of the best and traditionally tasty quality! And you can buy it while having a pleasant conversation.Everything is as fast as Freyier. Just remember that the state doesn't allow such a strong Reyche that my fingers get black from the bacon.😋

Anyone expecting a 5-star hotel is wrong here. With Hubert and his wife there are holidays on the farm with all the trimmings. Every morning the children are allowed to take the calves out to pasture and back into the stable in the evening, including stable work, of course. This helps Hubert and makes the children happy. You can also get fresh milk and eggs directly from the farm, and the farm shop also has sausage and other good things. We had to bring towels with us, but that wasn't a problem.Bed linen was available on site, if you would like to bring your own... please feel free to do so.The Hilpertenhof is ideally located in a valley in the southern Black Forest. We were here for 2 weeks and went on trips every day covering a distance of around 35 km, good for the children and actually it should have been a week more to cover everything. We drove 7 km to Neustadt to go shopping, always passing the same ice cream parlor. If you're looking for peace and quiet from everyday life, this is the place for you.21 years ago I lived in the Black Forest for a long time and it was a trip into the past and into my “old” homeland.I found the conversations with Hubert and his wife all the more enjoyable.Thank you for the wonderful holidays at the Hilpertenhof.
