Freshly renovated youth hostel. Recommended for groups. Very well-equipped, new-looking kitchen with Miele dishwasher and microwave.

This weekend we had a family reunion with 13 people in the old hostel. The house is in great need of renovation. The sanitary facilities are dilapidated. The wooden floors are dilapidated. The house can still be used as a museum because of the pictures and sculptures. But definitely not more than accommodation in the rental. The living area was very dirty, sticky tables and wool mice. The equipment in the kitchen and sleeping areas no longer corresponds to the standard of a hostel. Defective electrical appliances in the cooking area. The one in the basement is very primitive . Providing adequate food for 20 people is impossible. The barbecue area outside is very good.Rooms are dilapidated

Guesthouse:Well, functional but far from comfortable or modern.Clean only superficially. Thick layer of dust on something similar to a cupboard. Slatted frames repaired or replaced with chipboard. Chairs as bedside tables without lamps and very wobbly sockets. The sanitary facilities are in need of renovation. This also includes the doors.Contact with the landlord was pleasant and problem-free.The nearby indoor swimming pool and hiking trails are within walking distance. However, the Sauerlander ups and downs should be taken into account. The swimming pool in Plettenberg and the Biggesee in Attendorn are easy to reach and worth seeing.Of course also the Attahöhle and Schnellenberg Castle. The Wilde Wiese ski area is also not far away and hiking is possible there. There was no snow.

90 euros are charged for the final cleaning. When I entered the house, I asked myself whether anyone had ever cleaned here. From the floor to the tables, everything really stuck. The house is nice to look at from the outside, but you're just not allowed to go inside as nothing has been renovated or repaired in decades.Actually, it's a shame

So I have to give 5 out of 5 for the rooms and what you have and find in the house, but I would prefer to give nothing at all for the neighbor who lives next door. But otherwise it was very nice :)

I went on vacation there with my living group and I have to say it was really good, the house is big, it's clean, the beds are very comfortable. It's stupid that there are only 3 bathrooms, it's a bit difficult to shower with 12 people downstairs, although there is a bathroom with 3 shower cabins that are opaque, but I don't want to shower in swimming trunks if another person finishes before me. Only 3 stars for the location because you can't get far there without a car. There is a sports facility nearby where you can play football, a very good sports facility. Overall, I can say I found it good there and can only recommend it.

Partially inaccessible "at your own risk". Unclean and dirty when we arrived (table was stuck etc.)A very reasonable price for that. Suitable for a simple overnight stay but not a feel-good holiday.

It's okay if you want to go back in time. The house is very noisy and it is a small museum.

We stayed in the guest house for 8 days and cannot recommend this property. It seems as if time stood still there in the 80s. Defective furniture and interior were repaired, sockets and switch covers were broken, and the hygienic condition of the house was below average upon arrival. If you consider that a cleaning fee of €90 is charged, you wonder whether a cleaner is really hired for this. The sleeping places are inadequate; the bed frames have been repaired, there is no real slatted frame (either you lie directly on a wooden board, or roof slats have been screwed together to form a slatted frame), the mattresses have been picked through and you can feel every spring. The "shoe covers" were mostly dirty and some of the mattresses smelled of urine, so a cleaner had to be used. The furnishings in the rooms are spartan and look as if the items were collected from the bulky waste. The lighting only works partially (one of three bulbs works). The kitchen has been modernized, but the "full equipment" is old and worn; You look in vain for sharp knives, some of the cooking utensils are broken or unhygienic and the dishes are not designed for the maximum occupancy of the house. All in all, the guesthouse is in dire need of renovation. We would have been better off investing the price we paid for 16 people and 8 days in other accommodation.
