If you want to feel the atmosphere of a youth hostel, Monschau Castle is the right place for you.Not for posh hotel visitors and all-inclusive fans. 😉The youth hostel manager and the staff we got to know were friendly, courteous and extremely helpful.The castle and the view alone are worth a visit, but spending the night there is just the icing on the adventure cake. 😊Monschau's old town, which can be reached on foot in just a few minutes, has endless charm. Many small restaurants and cafes invite you to linger.I will come back with my grandchildren!!!

We stayed as a family at the Burg Monschau youth hostel for a weekend. However, we rented one of the holiday apartments.It was clean, comfortable and everything fit perfectly. 5 stars for the apartment.Next to the youth hostel there is a garden that you can use. Includes seating, barbecue area and great view of Monschau.We ate breakfast in the youth hostel. This was okay to good.The castle is really great and is located above Monschau. There is a playground next to the castle and a table tennis table.The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

So the rooms are as they are, the typical wooden beds, but sufficient for 2 nights and at some point the good back says "hello".My room was small, but it was easily enough; you don't spend 24 hours there.Among other things, it was quite noisy, but well, it's a castle and not a new, insulated building.The location is great and I have to say that the staff were really friendly and the food, thanks to the kitchen, was really tasty. All in all, I can still recommend the facility and give it 5 stars.

The proud castle towers high above Monschau. Set up as a youth hostel, it offers a great view of the beautiful town of Monschau with its old half-timbered houses and enchanted alleys. Rooms are newly renovated and almost the entire complex is accessible. The facility can even be used as an open-air theater. A short, steep path and you are at the top.

A great youth hostel with a special flair. We've been there three times now and it's always a great experience. It is especially exciting for children to feel like they are in the world of knights.We stayed in the holiday apartments and thought it was great there.The food is great and the kitchen team is open to all wishes.

We had a great stay (2 mothers with 6 children). Spending the night in a castle was an exciting adventure and we would definitely come back! The staff at the youth hostel were all nice and we felt like we were in good hands. Despite the mixed weather, Monschau had a lot to offer for children and the people there were very family-friendly!

Arrived at the hostel by bike (it climbs steeply!), very warm welcome from the attendant who even took the trouble to accompany us to the room. The only downside was that we were in the tower and the room smelled a little musty even though the vaulted ceiling really gives it a special flavor. For the rest, the places are very clean and the showers are very hot. The beer sold by the hostel is very good and really cheap (1.6eur) No wifi in the rooms. As for breakfast, simple but carefully prepared. In short, a very nice stopover in an atypical setting, highly recommended.

Beautiful youth hostel with super nice operators. We felt in good hands and looked after. Would love to come back. For 1 night, the toilet and washrooms in the hallway were no problem. Everything clean 👍🏻

We had, to put it briefly, the most wonderful stay.The two gentlemen of the staff we dealt with were outstandingly helpful, courteous, and warm all the way through. A big, heartfelt thanks!The dinner was warm and hearty, the ingredients fresh; the breakfast buffet is aptly described as classically German and nostalgic. It reminded me of previous stays in my youth—in the most charming way.The rooms & amenities have a rugged charm that is rivalled only by their breathtaking view: Our room overlooking the castle's inner court and Monschau's scenic old town. Sunrise and sundown were magical to behold. I'd take the Herberge over a hotel in the town centre anytime.Thank you for the amazing stay!

We stayed in the family house of the youth hostel: an absolute insider tip! Great apartment for around 100€/day. The holiday apartment is simple, but absolutely adequately equipped with a fully-fledged kitchen for self-catering. Everything in Monschau can be reached quickly on foot. The accommodation was absolutely cheap for the five of us. The view is a dream and there is also your own lockable garden. We spontaneously added another tag - unfortunately that was all we could do. And at the end the hostel father opened the catacombs for us: we were allowed to explore everything! We will be back definitely!!!

Monschau Castle is a very beautiful, cozy and rustic youth hostel with a great team.We received a very warm welcome and were immediately immersed in the castle feeling.The food was very tasty, especially the pickled chicken for grilling was one of our highlights.There is a small hostel team that rocks the castle operations with a lot of joy and ease - even with a full occupancy of 100 guests.Thanks to the hosts for a great weekend. You can tell that the youth hostel is not a job for you but a matter of the heart!
