I think there is certain breed of traveler that likes to stay overnight in the old tiny villages. I am not of that breed. That breed also seems to enjoy a bed with a soft foam mattress. I did not enjoy the one at Manoir at all, nor the pillows that seemed to be original to the building. Other aspects of the stay were fine as others have mentioned. If you do stay I advise to do the in-house breakfast. It was plentiful, varied and likely beats the tourist trap you will find in town.

We were at Manoir 1654 for the second time, this time with our friends. It just haseverything fit. The house and the rooms are a dream. Everything equipped with great attention to detail. We didn't miss anything at breakfast. Simply great. Our friends were also thrilled. We visited Ivonne's wine/living room on Thursday evening. Which is also highly recommended and was created with a lot of love. Many thanks to Ivonne and Sascha

Beautiful room on the third floor and they took extra care to incorporate the old beams in the room. Of particular note, the owner was so proud of the little window he built especially for one to look out and see the small chapel on top of the hill, creating a Natural Picture in the room. Bed and bathroom were very comfortable! Great pick for us at the end of our vacation. Parking is not too far away in a paid garage and the owner gave great directions and information per email. Thank you Sasha!

The Manoir is in a quiet location. An old town hall from 1654 in which there are some holiday rooms. Some historical parts, such as the old doors, are still preserved today. The landlords are very friendly and helpful and you are immediately on first terms. We were in the loft. A large room with a kitchenette, refrigerator, sofa, bed, small adjoining bathroom with shower and a small balcony.Really nice and recommended.

Unbeatable stay in the very beautifully restored old town house in the heart of Monschau. The view is beautiful and the location is great.Unfortunately, parking has to be a 5/10 minute walk away.Host is very pleasant and attentive.Breakfast is definitely recommended. Our only regret was that we didn't book for longer.

I was there with my fiancé for 3 days on New Year's Eve 2023/New Year 2024 and loved it. So much said:our room was in the attic. There are steep stairs and carrying suitcases is a bit strenuous, but everything else is good. Tall people may have to bend down occasionally, but that's not a problem. They helped us carry our suitcases and explained everything to us calmly about how it all works, etc. Everything was very clean and looked so nice inside and out.But why do I still give 4 stars for service? Unlike hotels, it is not the case that there is someone who can be there for you around the clock. However, you can contact us by phone if you have any problems. This should just be a warning to people expecting a reception. This isn't the case and we didn't think it was a bad thing at all :).Breakfast was very tasty and very plentiful.Thank you for this lovely vacation. Our New Year's Eve had never been as pleasantly quiet as this stay!

The stars say it all! ❤️ This was our “first time” in Monschau and we booked it right away! Sascha is very personable and explained everything very well on the first day. Personally, I think the concept is very cool, I've never had anything like it before, and the fact that so much attention is paid to sustainability really suits me! The breakfast was very rich, here we might just have the suggestion to offer fresh rolls from the town.. 😅 We had the room on the 3rd floor and of course we didn't read that you first have to climb Mount Everest over centuries-old stairs, but every course was definitely worth it! 😁 The room is lovingly furnished with old furniture and the beam construction makes it a dream! More suitable for small people, but the man(s) were able to cope with it very well. And thanks to the shower gel, we also have a fragrant memory. 😂 A great weekend with a great atmosphere! ❤️ Thank you!
