The newly run and beautifully redesigned StrandHotel with a café and yoga courses is a real asset for the island! Very tasty cakes (all homemade) and really good coffee, you can sit inside and outside. A really nice, relaxing place!

The Strandhotel Vitte is a little insider tip where you can feel good. In the café there were delicious homemade cakes, paninis and cinnamon rolls. The staff is very friendly and leaves nothing to be desired. We will be back definitely!!

Hello, here in room 7 there is sun in the morning, midday and afternoon. The yoga lessons with Steffi were great, she picked up all 15, no matter what level they were, and the breakfast was also completely sufficient and everything overall was very good value for money. You can still have dinner with pleasure and good quality the corner in Godewind, be sure to reserve in high season!

We were lucky enough to catch the testing phase of the new café. The service, the ambience and the drink as well as the cake were very good. Hopefully the café will be realized one day, that would be an enrichment for the area!

Rooms, breakfast, breakfast service are absolutely fine. This is only impossible if you currently want to relax in a beach hotel. There is a construction site in the house and a house right next to it is being demolished. This starts at 7 a.m. and is not finished at 6 p.m. There was no advance information.

I retreated here for two weeks to work on my thesis, and it was perfect for this purpose.The staff were friendly, caring, and attentive and since it wasn't in the main season, everyone had time for an occasional chat. I even made friends here. The breakfast was exceptionally good. A full buffet was available every morning, even though there were only a few guests.I had the smallest room, which was very cozy, yet practical for work. It was very clean. In spite of its small size, I had a comfortable bed, a desk, a big cupboard, a sink, and a TV on a small stand. Much was made of wood, including a creaky floor, which reminded me of my childhood. There was a toilet and a bathroom, both modern and clean and shared with another room, but I mostly had them to myself. I had access to a balcony of sorts through one of the two windows. It was beautiful to sit on the warm tar roof at night to watch the stars in a clear sky while smoking a pipe.As for the location, the Strandhotel is not in one of Hiddensee's busy areas but rather off the track, yet close to the harbour. I would go for a run every morning before breakfast to keep my body active. I could enjoy an amazing sunrise over the sea almost every time. There are many options to choose a track, so it never became boring. I even discovered a scientific long-term experiment taking place in the open.For lunch and dinner, there are many options available. I particularly enjoyed having "Pfefferlappen" in a bun, a local herring specialty. Most prepared meals are hearty, usually fish with fried potatoes and salad in a vinegar dressing.I felt right at home at the Strandhotel and would come back here anytime for a retreat.

First of all: The "Strandhotel Vitte" is a kind of guesthouse of the Hotel Godewind, which is a good 5 minute walk away.From our point of view it was positive- the good location near the ferry,- the great sea view from our room,- the always very helpful staff,- the rich breakfast with fresh salads,- the affordable price,- the free WiFi.First we had to get used to the fact that the house was no longer in optimal condition (see photos). When we arrived we thought the "hotel" had permanently closed. The pine furniture-woodchip-carpet combination in our room looked different than we expected from the website photos (but everything was clean). The hygiene concept with external service at the buffet when the breakfast room was completely empty was also unusual. But in the end we had nice days there.
