A visit to the Thuringian Forest campsite was a rollercoaster of emotions. We were traveling with a group of 5 people and two vehicles. When we checked in, we first noticed that there was a non-publicized lunch break, so we had to wait another 30 minutes for the visitor parking lot. Unfortunately, when we checked in, our previous reservation was not taken into account and we were told in an unfriendly manner that this was not a "party campsite".After a quick look, we still checked in.At check-in we were given a small gift for the dog, which made up for a lot. We were then shown a clean and properly grassed pitch which, according to the groundskeeper, was only in the sun until 4pm. This turned out to be more or less wrong as the sun shone on the tent and car until 8pm. That's why we looked for somewhere close to the Hohenwarte Dam where we could cool off and unfortunately a very complicated and arduous route was described to us. After a nice cooling down, we wanted to take advantage of the gastronomic offerings. We were served mediocre frozen food. The service and beer were actually the best. After eating we looked for the sanitary rooms, which were very clean and well maintained. All in all, a visit to a rollercoaster of emotions.

Spacious places. Quiet and well-maintained campsite, very standard and according to the rules, which makes it also a bit boring (including the owners) and a lack of atmosphere 😏Shower token for 4 minutes costs €1.40 (incl VAT) 😏

We just wanted to get out for a few days and not drive that far - we came across this campsite while looking for a nice spot near the reservoir! Friendly contact via email, so the place was reserved! There was a welcome gift with treats for Merle 🐕 and a welcome drink for our owners. Great location! Beautiful large plots, free choice of space and absolutely quiet! Well-kept lawn and natural hedges all around! Sanitary facilities are functional and clean! We absolutely enjoyed the peace and quiet and would love to come back! We didn't try the restaurant on site as it was a bit too expensive for us!

The landscape is really beautiful, very quiet but also very dark (not even emergency lighting for the toilet). If you would like to sleep at night and don't feel like having diarrhea, you should avoid the snack bar. We spent the night on the toilet. Definitely not a second time.

We were here in July. We were kindly received. It is a nature campsite, do not expect tightly trimmed bushes and short-mown grass. You are in the middle of a beautiful nature reserve, where you can walk and relax, read and enjoy the view. Fresh warm rolls in the morning. Quiet campsite, no entertainment. So wonderful..

A beautiful campsite in the middle of nature. This peace and quiet is wonderful and invites you to relax! The place is not so crowded, absolutely comfortable. The sanitary facilities were always clean and well maintained and the operators are super nice! We would be happy to come back here at any time!!
