Very nicely located hotel in the former forester's lodge right on the treetop path. I would say the playground is great for kids up to 10 years old. The location is ideal for taking hikes on the countless hiking trails through the Hainich. The beer garden is great, very cozy, lots of space, not overcrowded, even if there is always something going on and the service is very friendly and familiar. We would love to come back and will probably see each other again next fall😉👍. So great!

Unfortunately the restaurant was disappointing. Quite expensive (10€ apple strudel) and the cake tasted cheap and thawed (a long time ago). The coffee didn't work at all either, it tasted like instant coffee. Plates and spoons were dirty. The only bright spot was the friendly serving robot.

Located directly in the Hainichen National Park, it is of course a dream for anyone looking for peace and exercise in nature. The food is good, the staff is friendly and you feel welcome. The rooms and facilities are modernized and good. For children there is a really good and large adventure playground right next to the forester's lodge and the treetop path is without a doubt a must-visit. A relaxing experience and particularly interesting for short vacations or as a day trip destination.

Hotel with attached beer garden. There's a lot of activity on the treetop path at the weekend. Doesn't bother you if you're traveling yourself. Things get quiet in the evening after 6 p.m.

A trip to the treetop path is always worth seeing. You are in the middle of nature and if you open your eyes you will find adventure. Well, your physical well-being is deliciously taken care of. It's best to stop by yourself, because the great playground next door is a surprise for young and old.

Unfortunately we were deceived by the external impression, the quality of the food absolutely does not match the price! My vegetables were still half frozen... a shame... there's still a lot of room for improvement.

THE perfect place for a wedding celebration! We say thank you!!My wife and I chose the Forsthaus Thiemsburg because we had the feeling from the first moment that we were working with professionals. Regardless of whether it was when reserving an appointment, visiting the locations, decorating options or making the final arrangements for the evening meals, they always tried to accommodate our wishes and if something didn't work, professional alternatives were offered.We and many other guests arrived the day before and we got a small foretaste of the capabilities of the Thiemsburg team: great service, very nice hotel rooms and very tasty food. We were excited for the next day. This started with a very nice breakfast buffet, which left nothing to be desired. The rooms offered very comfortable beds, nice facilities and very nice bathrooms with very functional equipment so that men and women could get ready.The existing old sawmill was prepared as a venue for the celebrations and we were very excited to see what awaited us. After the champagne reception, the area was opened to us and we were speechless...it was beautifully decorated. The cake and the evening buffet were very nicely presented. The evening buffet was a culinary delight. Not only was it super tasty, it was also very, very beautifully prepared, because the eye eats too. Thanks to the high-quality products and the sophisticated cooking, the dinner was fantastic and all the guests were more than full and raved about the culinary delicacies.In short, the boss and her team, with their professional performance in preparation, service, kitchen and follow-up, made our celebration an unforgettable day. Thank you very much for that!!

Was there on Sunday with my son.Service was friendly, the food was delicious, BUT:€20.90 for a simple Wiener-style schnitzel is undoubtedly expensive.Then it should at least be an appropriate size. This portion was a JOKE!!!! The schnitzel was almost 3 mm thick, total weight max. 130 g!!!!! That's a disgrace!! In the last restaurant we were in, the children's schnitzel was bigger... - for €6.90!!!!

A very good place to get to know Hainich and the surrounding area. Located right on the treetop path, it couldn't be better. The hotel is very good for its 3 stars, small but sufficient bathroom and clean. The restaurant also impresses with tasty cuisine, good breakfast and friendly, quick and attentive service, which is unfortunately rarely experienced these days. The beer garden with snacks is also recommended. Okay, the prices, but whatever, that's just the way it is now.

The room will only be cleaned upon request. The neighboring restaurant closes at 6:30 p.m. (!!) and it wasn't possible to get a sandwich with cheese or ham shortly before closing time. Instead, a bottle of Köstritzer 0.33l for €4.20, a bit heavy. But the location is very beautiful, there is peace and relaxation for visitors once the treetops are gone.
