I was there on a fall trip and thought it was terrible. The food is terrible and tastes disgusting. The lunch boxes usually only consist of apples and a muesli bar. At times I was so hungry but couldn't eat anything properly. The service was sometimes friendly but they sometimes forced us to eat things we didn't want to eat. There is no shower or toilet in the girls' room and you would have to walk further down the hallway, which I personally didn't like. There is also a motion detector there and when you go to the toilet in the evening it will quickly be pitch black. The showers are terrible, the curtains are thin and the floor is yellow. The beds are fine but I would advise taking your favorite pillow with you. The WiFi connection was OK but could be better. Everything was easily accessible but there was nothing special about the famous exhibitions in the city. I wouldn't go there again

If you arrive by car, you don't have to expect to get a parking space. Supposedly it's only for guests, but how are they supposed to know which car belongs to guests or not?The room windows can be opened (which is also important). One shower for women and men on each floor. The location is good. That's the one from the campsite too. We've tried the hostel now and don't have to come back.

I was there with my class on Tuesday - Thursday (08/20/24 - 08/23/24). We had a lot of fun, but the food is terrible!The rooms are okay even if they are a little dirty. Nevertheless, it was a nice trip and the surroundings are really beautiful.

The youth hostel totally exceeded our expectations with the warm and uncomplicated welcome, the good organization, the great breakfast and the perfect location! When the weather was great, we had a lot of space outside to play and be together, plus the lake for swimming and walking right in front of the garden door - we no longer had any time for the things nearby like the pedestrian zone, the bat cave or the Karl May Festival , the lovely weekend flew by.

Very nice youth hostel.Located just a few minutes walk from the city center.The festival can be reached in about 15 minutes on foot.We would love to come back.

It's a typical youth hostel, but every corner and edge is miserly treated. You notice that as soon as you enter the building, they probably don't know how to heat. Absolute basics like ventilation in the bathroom don't work either. The saddest thing was the food, which had 0 choices and consisted of below average grub.

As the people before me have already written, the youth hostel is not the most modern, but that didn't bother us at all and is not necessary for a school trip. We came with around 100 students and spent 5 days in the youth hostel and it was great!Depending on the number of beds (2 to 6 beds), the rooms are spacious and clean. The furniture was fully functional and sufficient for the students. Not all rooms have their own bathroom with a toilet or shower. But these can always be found on every corridor and can be reached quickly. The mattresses are of the harder variety, which is probably a matter of taste - I slept wonderfully.The youth hostel is in a great location. Not far from shopping and bus stops. It is also located directly on the lake, which makes it possible to swim, hike or simply relax. The Kalkbergstation, where the Karl May games take place, is not far away and can be reached on foot in just a few minutes - it was perfect for our school trip!Finally, what I would particularly like to emphasize is the service: The entire staff was always friendly, helpful and tried very hard. No matter what spontaneous ideas came to us, we were always helped and always with a smile. We were treated to a small but delicious and lovingly prepared buffet in the morning and evening. There was always fresh fruit and vegetables and cold and warm dishes. Numerous intolerances or diets (vegan, vegetarian) were taken into account and alternatives were offered. As escorts, we were always provided with coffee and tea during the day. The organization of the individual building blocks and activities worked smoothly and everyone had a lot of fun! The hostel management was great! Always friendly, helpful and with a smile on her face - also towards the students. We went home super happy and can absolutely recommend the youth hostel for school trips or similar activities! I would come again and again.

A great youth hostel that leaves nothing to be desired! 👌🏻❤️ The team there was always very friendly, immediately helpful and extremely understanding 👍🏻 The excursions were well organized by the youth hostel and we had a lot of fun with 93 young people and 7 carers 😄 The food was as delicious as at grandma's homemade, vegetarians were included, intolerances were taken into account, special requests were organized immediately and the food was always served to the young people with a smile. From the table tennis cellar to the party room, everything is there 🤩 The torchlight hike at the youth hostel was the cherry on the cake!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you for an unforgettable time🙏🏻🥰 We recommend you wholeheartedly!

When I was there with my kindergarten group in 2003, I didn't like it that much. The rooms were dirty (chewing gum under the beds, dust, etc.). The service was nothing. Unmotivated and not particularly friendly to us children back then. There was also no net on the volleyball court, disappointing! Only the location is convincing!All the best! 👍🏽

Fire alarm works too well. Someone was taking a shower and then it got very loud. Was already in bed. Very good location, rally was very bad.You can watch the Karl May games.
