Great holiday homeWe have been coming to the holiday home "Jansen" in Borgsum on Föhr for several years now and every year here has been unique! The genuine warmth with which we are welcomed here is simply extraordinary on this island. We have vacationed here almost every year for over 30 years, but since we were with Anna Carstensen for the first time, we haven't wanted to stay anywhere else. It is very cozy and very nicely furnished here. Everything is sparkling clean and nothing is missing in the house. We like to cook a lot and the kitchen has everything we need. The mattresses are excellent, there are two bedrooms in Haus Jansen (a large double bed and a bedroom with two single beds), both rooms are cozy and have plenty of storage space for clothes. In the living room there are beautiful old tiles, a nice seating area and a large TV.The kitchen, dining area and living room are practically one large, only visually separated room, which means a lot of space and freedom in the pretty, old Frisian house.The garden is fantastically large and completely fenced in, making it extremely safe for children. The sandpit, a beautiful beach chair and the abundant garden furniture make it an outdoor living room in summer, so to speak.You are completely separated from the other holiday home “Backer” in terms of space and noise. Only the washing machine and dryer are used together in the former barn/stable.With a bit of luck you can watch the little swallows rearing there; a pair of swallows has been nesting here for some time now and this means you automatically book your "luck" (swallows have been considered a good luck charm for a house since time immemorial) for your holiday season.There is of course also a parking space or garage for the car and bicycles.From Borgsum you can reach the beach by bike in a few minutes, but a short walk to the beach is also worth it, because you are walking on the edge of a bird sanctuary and the flora and fauna of Föhr are unique.Directly opposite the house is the island bakery, which, in addition to delicious rolls, bread and cakes, also has one or two things on its shelves that might be missing in the household.By car you can reach Nieblum or Utersum in 3 minutes and Wyk in 10 minutes.The Edeka in Wyk and Oldsum is particularly recommended.In Wyk, the Edeka market has a very good selection of organic products, especially organic fresh meat and many local Föhr/Amrum specialties. There is also a good fish shop right next to the market.The best ice cream and the most delicious cake are available at Cafe Steigleder on the promenade!We wish everyone a great Föhr holiday!Stracke family
