Ferienhaus La Salutation

From July 15 to 19, 2024 we enjoyed our stay at 'La Salutation' in Bütgenbach. It was truly a fantastic experience. The weather was great, the location was great, and the holiday home couldn't have been better.The owners received us personally and gave us a warm welcome with a great bottle of wine as a gift. They gave us an extensive tour in and around the house, which immediately made us feel at home.We selected this holiday home because it is suitable for wheelchair users. The bedroom on the ground floor was fully adapted for wheelchair users and equipped with aids, including electrically adjustable beds. The adjacent bathroom was also fully adapted for disabled people and wheelchair users. The bathroom and the three other bedrooms on the first floor were also in perfect condition.The kitchen was fully equipped with more than enough kitchen equipment for delicious cooking. In the utility room there was even an extra fridge/freezer combination and a washing machine available. We had breakfast and dinner at the spacious dining table. Thanks to the beautiful weather, we were able to have breakfast and dinner outside several times, for which there were several tables and chairs available. A BBQ was also at our disposal.The living room offered plenty of space and was equipped with a large sofa and a flat-screen TV. In addition, there were games, books, comics, a stereo system with an extensive record collection and a large DVD collection available for use. Our dog was also more than welcome, with a food bowl and water bowl ready upon our arrival.There was ample parking space, a spacious garden and play equipment for younger visitors. Bed, bath and kitchen linen were amply provided. Shops were close by, including several supermarkets, a bakery and a butcher. Takeaway was also possible, with a pizzeria, Chinese takeaway and chip shop less than 15 minutes away.It was important for us that we could take walks with the whole family, as both parents are in wheelchairs and are 86 and 88 years old. In the woods surrounding the holiday home there are walking paths with paved roads, making it easy for wheelchair users to participate in the walks. Keep in mind that the terrain is hilly, which means walking uphill and downhill. Fortunately, in our group we were able to alternate between pushing the wheelchairs, so this was not a problem.At the end of our stay the owners came by again for a nice chat before we left. They were extremely kind and understanding towards our parents.It is important to us that a family holiday is a real holiday for everyone, including our wheelchair-bound parents. This was certainly the case in 'La Salutation'. Our parents were able to enjoy a carefree week and the extensive equipment for the disabled was also a relief for us, the children who are responsible for the guidance and care of our parents.We can't think of a single downside. From the beginning, when the owners contacted us several times to ask if we needed any special adjustments for our parents (such as a toilet seat raiser or bed bird, which they provided), until our departure, everything was to our liking. Although 9.5 points out of 10 is already high, we think that is too low. We give a well-deserved 10 out of 10 and hope that many more people will have a wonderful holiday in 'La Salutation'.

Very nice, spacious house with 4 bedrooms. Infrared sauna, games, LPs and even suitable for wheelchair users. 2 spacious bathrooms. Well-equipped kitchen with everything you need. Very beautiful surroundings. Close to Monschau. Highly recommended.

Had a very nice week in this spacious, complete and adapted house. Literally everything available, even for the disabled guest.

We had a great weekend at La Salutation. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by Jos and Ellie. The house was spacious and fully equipped. We enjoyed the BBQ in the garden. The area is beautiful for cycling and walking!
