If you have always wanted to fall asleep with the sound of a rushing mountain stream, I can recommend room 12. Through the single-glazed windows you feel like you are right next to a raging mountain stream, even though the Laufenbach is just a small stream that flows under the house. The noise level in the room is extreme; I wouldn't have been able to sleep at night without earplugs. It was good that we had two beds, the first bed had a hammock feeling with its mattress - if you need that. The second bed was fine, at least for our three nights, but I wouldn't have wanted to sleep in there any longer. In the bathroom you can find chaotically attempted renovation work which cannot be overlooked due to a randomly thrown together mix of materials. There is no room service, in our 4 days of stay no one made the beds or anything like that. The breakfast buffet, if you can even call it that, was quite simple.I can't understand why this "hotel" is even run as a hotel. Bed & Breakfast is more accurate. The "hotel" doesn't have its own parking spaces, which I didn't expect in the old town location. However, parking in the Seidenstrasse car park, which is within walking distance, is not recommended due to its old, narrow parking spaces. There are parking spaces on the street up to the mustard mill, costs 7 euros per day.

One night was enough, everything was getting old. Yes, it was clean. I wouldn't come here again. Simply too expensive.

Completely overpriced. €30 would have been enough here. Exterior door not lockable. The room door had so much air that one could see from the outside. Almost impossible to lock. Stairs are at risk of accidents. Simply put, unreasonable.

Wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone! Terribly old-fashioned with pre-war interior! You can't get out of bed that low! And the breakfast is also nothing, tough rolls, had booked 2 nights and went to another hotel after 1 night with screeching tires! And nothing else to do!

The hotel was clean and tidy. There was 1 bottle of water and reading samples of books as an extra in the room. The furnishings are a bit old but there are nice new accents in the roomUnfortunately our shower curtain was a bit moldy but that can easily be changed. The hotel is in a prime location, just a stone's throw from the market and the busThe stairs up to the room were very narrow and with larger luggage it was a bit complicated. But it's just a small half-timbered house. The breakfast was good.

Is this the most perfect hotel in Monschau? Probably not. It is however ideally located, very close to the Seidenfabrik garage. The building is quite old, which translates in narrow stairs, some height differences and there and maybe some maintenance points here and there. But you can't really beat it for the price. Everything was clean, which is most important to me.We had a lovely stay here. The room and bathroom were adequate for our needs and the bed was comfortable. Wifi works perfectly and the tv is modern and has lots of satellite channels.Dogs are allowed at an additional fee. The owner set up water bowls in the room and a nice toy for our dog to play with. Very thoughtful.Breakfast was good, nothing extravagant but fresh and plenty. It was pretty quiet in the hotel during our stay so staff had prepared a table for us with all the breakfast items. So to summarize: if you're a traveler that is ok in staying at an authentic place, then Rest Inn is the place for you. There are of nice dining options at walking distance so you won't miss the restaurant being closed.

Unfortunately we didn't have a good experience in this hotel. We got the last room in the hallway on the last floor. We checked in at 3 p.m. and came into an ice-cold room. …
