The Winterburg school camp is located in front of the former old castle complex. Top view and very good location. Also highly recommended for a quiet evening walk.

The castle youth hostel is beautifully located above the city and can be reached by car - even if you have to park a little ways away on a meadow (that's actually a plus because you don't have to look at vehicles). The rooms are well furnished and modern for a JuHe, without losing the castle look - only the staircase with the washrooms and toilets completely loses the castle character. We and other guests we were there with were very disappointed with the food: they don't cook here, they just heat up cheap convenience foods, and all the dishes were very oversalted. The types of tea are not standard teas such as black/Earl Grey/peppermint/chamomile, but a colorful mix of herbal teas that taste dull with age, which seemed like sales to us and could not be brewed properly with the not really boiling water from the machine dispenser. Luckily we had some decent tea with us and found a real kettle in the house next door. The fact that we night owls miss breakfast from 8-11 is at least due to our own habits. So: back at the earliest when the kitchen has new staff (or plan to eat out).

The castle is absolutely suitable for LARPing. Now my at least 10th visit. Even the vegan food is edible (curry with fake chicken, etc.).

My group and I are there every year as NPCs for LARP players.The main house is beautiful because it combines very beautiful old-fashioned architecture with the pleasant modern one.There is a lot of space and lots of rooms.The bunk beds are also comfortable.The little house is just plain old and fits our game perfectly in terms of ambience. The nature around it is also great and the view from the farm is really something.

Always great, beautiful area, nice people and a great house with beds, fireplace, grill - only the small refrigerator is usually not enough for us. Nevertheless: we like to come back again and again at any time of the year!

Very nice atmosphere, nice country school home!Just a word of warning when winter suddenly sets in, the roads are not easy to drive on.The evacuation then takes time.

Fully modernized building without losing the charm of the old walls.The perfect LARP location!(The only minor point of criticism is the parking spaces on the meadow - if there is space for more than 10 vehicles, the descent in wet weather can turn into a mud fight...)

Located in the middle of nowhere, this pretty mansion built on a slope is wonderfully quiet and invites you to adventure.The small house with its extremely narrow spiral staircase and large fireplace is suitable for small celebrations, only the "modern" kitchen prevents the feeling of having traveled back in time.In the big house I slept in the knight's hall - a real adventure... Each bed has its own box as a wardrobe replacement thanks to the large table and the wheel chandelier above it, you can feel like yesteryearThere are stoves and fire pits on sitewhich you can use.There is a soccer/basketball court right next to the big house.There is only one star deduction for the way to the toilet down the stairs via the corridor again stairs.... Well, but it probably couldn't be done any other way. Monument protection and so on...The continuously lit emergency exit sign is also a deduction from the B gradeBut here too, fire regulations are regulations.The full supply was awesome! Extremely tasty and very rich with consideration for vegetarians and vegans.A huge compliment to the hostel people for thisFor all LARPERs, the sports field in a subtle red is a bit annoying but can also be hiddenConclusion:. A great location with relaxed staff, good food and good beds in group dormitories
