Steinhude is a really nice, small and recommendable place - the Haus Berlin, on the other hand, is unfortunately anything but recommended. Before we arrived, we asked by phone whether towels, a hairdryer and bed linen were available. In addition, it was misleadingly stated online whether breakfast was included. We received a rather unfriendly answer that we didn't know what we had booked for, but of course this would have to be booked for just under 20 euros per person. We wanted to think about this in view of the already quite high price of 172 euros for one night in a small family room.A few days after our arrival we got a call from the managing director of the Berlin house. The family room is not designed for 4 adults. Therefore, he would instead offer us the "brand-new bungalow, where we are almost the first movers and only the IT is not yet working 100%" at a price of 200 euros. There was no one here before us that night, so we could check in around 11.So when we arrived at Haus Berlin shortly after 11, we were greeted with the words "Well, you're pretty early now." We first had to remember that we had been promised a few days ago that we would be able to go to the bungalow sooner. Now to the most important thing: the “brand new bungalow”The bungalow will definitely be a very nice apartment, but what we found was anything but rentable and was half a construction site. The floor was neither vacuumed nor mopped, the front door could only be opened halfway, not all light switches had covers, cables were hanging out of the wall, ceiling lights were dangling from unattached cables, heating grilles were in the winter garden instead of being attached to the radiators, the bathroom door had neither doorknob nor lock, so it couldn't be closed. Unfortunately, the storage room didn't have a door, so you had to look at the chaos of cleaning supplies and Ikea packages. Our highlights: nibbled bones from chicken wings on a stack of laminate in front of the terrace door and a used, obviously older tea cup on the floor in the winter garden, which also temporarily stored a door. In addition, all the windows (sills) were splattered with blobs of paint. So far only the bedrooms had been furnished and an older sofa with stains was in the living room. The living room table housed a trash bag with an ample selection of remote controls, but none for the television or without a battery. We called the landlord and listed all the defects. It was mentioned several times that we were there so early and that he had no opportunity to check that the apartment was being cleaned. The fact that it was an offer on his part was briefly forgotten; Apart from that, the unclean floor was probably the least of the problems. Even a week later, the necessity of asking "which of the young ladies I am" is still a mystery to me - the apartment was objectively a construction site.We were then promised another cleaning, the installation of a door handle in the bathroom and a free breakfast as well as check out by 12 p.m. By chance we came into the apartment while it was being cleaned - here we had to explain to the visibly annoyed cleaner that chicken wings outside the window were unappetizing and the floor was anything but clean. When we came into the apartment in the evening, the floor was clean, but the teacup was on the window sill next to the front door and there was still no doorknob in the bathroom. At breakfast we were told by a lady that we should please leave the apartment at 11.Apart from the condition of the apartment, we would still not recommend Haus Berlin. The unfriendly nature of the landlord can spoil the vacation of some guests.
