I was there with my school class in August 2024 and it was a traumatic experience to see how this youth hostel makes its money.Rooms were dirty, there was chewing gum on the walls and the beds were dirtyBedding was also completely dirty.The food was okay apart from a few hairs in the salad, but the service wasn't very good🤢🤮Facilities in common areas and location okay.Overall a pretty bad experience. I wouldn't recommend.😉

We traveled as a couple and moved into a double room on the upper floor with our own bathroom and toilet. We cannot understand the bad Google reviews. The room and bathroom were clean and adequately furnished. Breakfast time was a bit very early, but even if you arrived just before closing time, there was always fresh food and there was enough of everything available. Free parking spaces are available directly at the house or in front of the Piller. The price-performance ratio is reasonable. We would recommend this youth hostel and book it again if we wanted to travel to Strasbourg again.

We were there in August, the room had no mosquito net and no air conditioning or at least a fan, and the hotel was surrounded by bodies of water, including the Rhine with its Rhine flies. Not only was it incredibly hot, with the sun shining directly into the room and the hallway from midday to afternoon, but it was almost impossible to sleep due to the many mosquitoes and their bites. The bathroom had to be shared with another room and the floor in the bathroom was sandy.At least the staff at breakfast (it was self-service) was reasonably friendly. You can leave your luggage in the children's building next door if you're early, but it's a hassle if you're even five minutes late. Flexibility looks different. It was completely overpriced, a step down, especially compared to youth hostels with similar prices, and I definitely won't be coming back.

I was there with my class (approx. 90 people) and they were the only ones there. Food is frozen again by the time you get to your place. (Beetles in salad are normal there😭😭) Rooms themselves were OK BUT WHY DO YOU HAVE TO SHARE THE TOILET WITH ANOTHER ROOM!!!!!!The only thing that POSITIVELY surprised me was the surroundings.END😌😌😌😌

I was there with a school class of 46. The rooms have standard furnishings which is usual for a JHB. If you want more luxury you have to look for a hotel in the Kehl area. Breakfast: Large selection and something for everyone. It was always refilled!!! When we arrived there were two types of pasta for dinner as well as sauces. Various variations of salad and dessert were offered! Good WiFi reception only in the lower rooms. If you want to visit Strasbourg from Kehl, it's best to take the tram or other public transport options from the train station. Info for bus drivers!!! Direct access to the JHB only via Schwimmbadstr. possible!!! Don't follow the house address! 😬If necessary, you can park in front of the JHB after consultation. Now have fun in the Kehl and Strasbourg region! 👋

There was an old piece of chewing gum by my bed. The rooms were far too small for 6 people and the youth hostel's facilities are anything but modern. Only the location was convincing:(

Top location and very friendly hostel management and good food. The location is absolutely great and also ideal for families. Right on the park with a lake and near the Rhine and a great water playground. Rooms and buildings were clean but a bit old. It's only about 15/20 minutes to Strasbourg with the nearby tram :)

Everything was basically good, the staff was nice, the food was very tasty but there is still only 3 stars because there was a green stain on my bed, because the toilet was dirty and because the floor was dirty

In itself a mediocre youth hostel. The food was good. The rooms went. Unfortunately, some of the sanitary facilities were unclean or had mold. There were a lot of insects in the room, even though the window was constantly closed.

I was there with a school class. We were very satisfied. The rooms were clean. Both breakfast and dinner were extensive with lots of fresh components (salad, fruit, vegetables) and, above all, good. The staff was competent and very nice.

In itself a really nice youth hostel. Nice outdoor area, close to the city. The rooms were okay but some were way too small. There were also ants in the rooms/beds. The whole floor smelled like a toilet because there are only shared bathrooms or two rooms have to share one. The food tasted okay, but hairs were found. On our last day of stay, almost all of the tablets were dirty and so were some of the cups. These are all just shortcomings that we noticed, but they can be tolerated. I would go there again despite the small defects. :)

There was a lot of smell in the whole building, especially in the hallways, there was mold on the wall in one room and the rooms weren't particularly clean either. The breakfast was quite okay.

In the morning I picked up a roll and then shortly before I noticed that there was mold on the bread, it was really disgusting!!! The rooms are too small. Toilets smell disgusting.

We were guests at the Kehl Youth Hostel at the end of November 2022 with a group of students (28 students) - and were super happy with our stay! We were warmly welcomed and generously entertained. The breakfast is of Cockaigne quality for French guests (there is really something for everyone) and everyone also enjoyed the evening meal. What was also nice was the hostel father's patience with the inconvenience that comes with booking a French group. It was a relaxing stay - that's how it should be. The only drawback are the very few showers and toilets that the students share. But it's just not a 3-star hotel. The price-performance ratio is great. We would love to come back.
