It was supposed to be a nice weekend with friends, but despite the good company, it only succeeded to a limited extent. We rented the entire house and also catered for ourselves. This “group hotel” is absolutely to be avoided!I've stayed in very simple guesthouses before, but never in one that was so run down!!!Saggy spring mattresses on broken slatted frames, amateurishly painted walls, stained seating, doors that don't close well, a clothes rack that fell apart, ... Not to mention the plumbing. Greetings to the 70s!At least the kitchen was still functional. The house needs to be completely renovated! Conclusion: if I could give 0 points, I would.

Suitable for stag parties and youth groups. A little more attention could be paid to cleanliness and you don't have to let everything go to waste.Plus point: the well-equipped kitchen with gas stove!

We celebrated New Year's Eve with a large group in Ammeldingen. We were a bit hesitant after all the negative reviews, but we were 100% happy with it.Communication before and during the stay was very smooth and friendly. The rooms were spacious and clean and I heard no complaints about the beds. The kitchen is adequately equipped and has plenty of cooling facilities. The room where the bar is located can easily be made cozy with some colored lights. We did not use the other room. The arcade was highly appreciated by the youth and the smoking area at the back of the building was well attended.Of course it is an old hotel and the decor is a bit old-fashioned. But the price also reflects that.We would like to come back someday.

Among the good things about the accommodation:- Very quiet and idyllic location- The house has a lot of potential with the bar and the very large space including a separate room for leisure activitiesUnfortunately that was it for the positive. Now to the absolute no-gos:I would like to say that calling it generations of black mold would probably be an understatement. The whole place literally “stinks” like it.Even people who are not sick or smokers have struggled with coughing fits. The rooms were probably last renovated 40 years ago, duct tape and cable ties can fix a lot, but what's broken is just broken. Some of the windows are single-glazed, which of course also drives up the energy costs for such a week.I don't even want to start with the plumbing and electrical systems (I think the last time I saw black toggle switches was 30 years ago, but you can still see them live here). But at least you have a nice petting zoo to pass the time with the mice, flies, silverfish, mosquitoes, etc.

Nice place to stay, the house really needs maintenance, the heater does not work in some rooms and it can be quite chilly in the fall. We were here 5 years ago and provided a list of areas for improvement, it's a pity that nothing has changed in those 5 years, the building certainly has potential but simply deserves attention and maintenance.

So the only thing that was great was the place itself and the peace and quiet around it - everything else I can only describe as horrible

We stayed here for a week at the end of August with 20 people from the athletics club and we were really surprised by this top accommodation. There are 16 spacious bedrooms, most of which have their own sanitary facilities. There is a bar with living room, a dining room, a garden and even a room with a ping pong table, air hockey, table football and pool table.I have been to many group accommodations with farmers and scouts, but they were all not as clean and luxurious as this one and were also much more expensive. The people who wrote negative reviews expected to end up in a five-star hotel for a dime. With that approach you will indeed be disappointed. There are some minor flaws here and there, but most of the flaw photos I see here were taken in the attic, basement and laundry room of the hotel. These are closed spaces where as a guest you look around briefly when you explore the building, but where there is nothing else, nothing to look for and are therefore completely irrelevant. It's nice and interesting that there is a damaged tile, peeling wallpaper or some rubbish.Highly recommended, because you won't find a better price/quality ratio anywhere than here. Nowadays where can you stay for a week with 20 people for 1100 euros? That's only 8 euros per night per person... but please don't expect a 5 star experience like those grumpy house mothers from the other reviews.

Last summer holiday (August) we stayed here with the family; read; (small) children, grandmother, parents, family with partners. In short, a large group to which we have all tailored our holiday. What should have been a great holiday ended up being a big disappointment if we were only talking about the accommodation. In short, it is a filthy mess, “far-reaching glory”, just never properly maintained. The kitchen is really dirty and unsafe with a leaking dishwasher all day long (nice for your final bill). Dangerous for small children's feet, so my daughter had two nasty falls. Mold eats away at all those rubbers in the refrigerator (don't think about what it can do to your food in that refrigerator). The refrigerators also leak, so refrigerators have been placed next to a small "countertop", which is handy! (Not, for such a large group). In addition, there is a foul sewage smell in the kitchen. And you have to cook in that.My son has asthma, the house is too damp for words and mold everywhere, unfortunately we had quite an aftermath with him after the holidays. But it has affected everyone's lungs. There are literally holes in the roof. When we tried to contact the landlord on site, he did not answer the phone, even after we texted a video of a leak! But on the day of departure he is there like the chickens! The shower trays are clogged and holes are in the floor, nothing in the “game room” is complete or playable. If you expect to get a deposit back, you simply have to pay extra money for gas, water and final cleaning. Then don't call it a deposit but an advance on your final bill. This would be less misleading...I eventually came to a compromise with the landlord (a different person than the landlord), after long email communications. But with this review I would like to avoid disappointment for others and advise: If you still want to book there, visit us first before you actually book! Prevention is better than cure.

Very disappointed. I looked forward to being reunited with the family for months, only to end up in a moldy cage. When we report this to the landlord, our complaints are not taken seriously. We took pictures of the stay because if I could explain it in words, you wouldn't believe it. It is definitely not child friendly. The area had a lot of beautiful things to offer otherwise we would certainly not have stayed there. But to make the best of it and assuming that we would get a deposit back, we stayed anyway only to be scammed for another 252 euros. This accommodation should absolutely no longer be rented out until it has been thoroughly overhauled. There are holes in the roof and we got pneumonia from this dilapidated building.
