My absolute favorite alpine pasture...A small, uncomplicated, enchanted, picture-book alpine pasture. An absolute insider tip...saw it...And I was in love...The food selection is small, but very nice.

Everything very simple. Mattress camp, washroom but no showers, just the delicious soup for dinner, no WiFi, no mobile phone. Brilliant, an absolutely relaxing evening in the mountains. All employees extremely nice. A tip for breakfast, take the muesli!

I am writing the review for my 70-year-old mother, who is still very fit and who spent two nights there in a women's senior group over the last few days. I was placed in the last bed on the upper floor without a ladder and despite asking to be given another place to sleep for the second night, no consideration was given. I think it's a shame, because in the mountains togetherness and consideration are part of the culture. Apparently that doesn't apply here. Overall, as already described in other reviews, the management is not optimal and, despite its understandable simplicity, the food can also do with a bit of variety.

A beautiful and very idyllic hut in the middle of the mountains! The food was fantastic (and there were also delicious alternatives for vegans and vegetarians☺️)!

The Wasseralm could be so beautiful...if the hospitality were betterPositive:The Alm is beautifully situated on a mountain stream. A foot bath in this stream after a strenuous hike is highly recommended. The knees can also be wonderfully cooled. But be careful, very cold :)Overall, the place is very idyllic and one or two wild animals can be observed. The big problem is catering. You currently pay €17.50 for a vegetable soup with some sausage and bread for dinner (the same meal was served last year). Also €17.50 for breakfast with some sausage and cheese. The worst thing, however, was that we received moldy bread. We pointed this out to the hospitality team and only received a “Yes, something like that shouldn’t happen.” The innkeeper then rummaged through the remaining bread with his very clean hands to see if he could find any more. Basically the bread was just old and hard. More like chickens or pigs. Full of gratitude for the delicious dinner, I spent half the night lying in the crowded bedroom with stomach cramps. Other hikers were also clearly busy, which was noticeable with a pleasant smell. You could also say that they farted their hearts out because of the food. The entire catering is a complete disaster and cannot be justified by the difficult access location. The Kärlingerhaus is even 10x better. For a stop at the Wasseralm, I recommend bringing your own food and, if possible, getting the sleeping room in the upper area.

It's a magical place. There you can forget the world for a few hours. In the evening the deer and their calves graze in front of the hut. Refreshing streams flow around the alpine pasture and live up to their name, marmots can be observed... The prices for the top vegetable stew and breakfast result from the isolation and the associated supply from the air - completely fine! The staff is super committed and the sanitary facilities are first class for a mountain hut. We would like to stay longer...

A kind of oasis in the furthest corner of Berchtesgadener Land, high above the Königssee and Obersee. Only accessible via very long hiking trails and therefore an extremely remote place. Luckily, the rustic hut is managed by the DAV Berchtesgaden section, partly on a voluntary basis. The high prices are due to the remote location, which can only be served by helicopter. It's best to bring your own provisions, as the choice of food is quite limited (stew, snack, sausages and cake). Overall, a special experience to stop off or stay overnight here. There are cell phone charging stations and you can refresh yourself at the stream next to the hut, as there are no showers. The team is very friendly and helpful and is very knowledgeable, including the weather forecast. It's just a shame that the hut has so few sleeping spaces that are practically always occupied. Therefore, booking early is necessary.
