Pretty much the best price-performance ratio of all the huts in Berchtesgadener Land. The landlord alone could be a little friendlier. It is rare to have a hut heated in cold temperatures in summer.80 beds is still manageable. And the location is simply incomparable.

Nice cabin with nice views and good facilities. The rooms were clean. The service was polite and I liked the cuisine (compliments to the chef). Unfortunately the stay was completely spoiled by the unprofessional behavior of the manager. When paying by card he was very aggressive, raised his voice in front of everyone and told me that they didn't have internet (which wasn't true). In Europe you can pay by card everywhere, even at the most remote kiosks in Iceland! The payment worked on the first attempt, but the atmosphere was already spoiled. I didn't feel like I was treated like a guest.

Spending the night in a hut is so nice, spending the morning and evening up in the mountains and reducing yourself to the essentials was a wonderful experience.

A day and a night at the Gotzenalm! We went on a girls' trip to the beautiful Gotzenalm, which we can always recommend for a day trip. The food tastes excellent and the view on the high plateau is simply gigantic.Unfortunately, there are definitely deficiencies if you want to stay overnight. Although the mattress storage in the newly built hut was super nice and super clean, the breakfast for 11 € was more than spartan and early in the morning at 7 a.m. the paper towels were empty, which is a no-go in a well-filled hut. The staff is generally friendly, but they probably had to warm up to us a bit. The fact that we were literally forced into bed at 10:30 p.m. is another negative point. It's perfectly fine that the serving ends at 10 p.m., but like on other alpine pastures, you could let the guests decide for themselves when they want to go to bed. It goes without saying that they don't have wild parties in the restaurant. If you visit (especially overnight!) you also have to be aware that you won't have any cell phone reception. There is also no WiFi and when you asked if you could use the telephone for a fee, you were only directed to a place above the hut with cell phone reception because "otherwise everyone wants to use the telephone". You could consider setting up a WiFi hotspot for a fee. Everyone can then decide for themselves whether they need WiFi or not - because it is available on site because the employees were "online" themselves, as you could see.

Great destination for a mountain bike tour (especially with an e-bike, without it it's only for advanced riders). Breathtaking and very photogenic view & location, food and service top. Definitely worth the walk uphill!
