Overall good! Rooms are large and spacious, but a bit old!Unfortunately, the indoor pool was pretty fresh, as was the rest of the hotel! Breakfast was good! But price-performance fits! Only 5 minutes drive to Königssee/Jennerbahn@

The location of the hotel was really great and close to many attractions. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. It was very clean and breakfast was included. I would recommend everyone to stay here!

We only visited the restaurant in the Bärenstüberl in the evening.Down-to-earth, delicious home cooking. The hotel/restaurant is rustically furnished; not much has been renovated here in the last 40 years. But if you like exactly this traditional/rustic feel, this is the place for you.Unfortunately we didn't really feel welcome.We were certainly later at 8 p.m. (2 people..), but we had previously made a reservation by phone for around 7:50 p.m. We were there at 8:00 p.m. - the restaurant was busy - but we were still greeted visibly annoyed.We then had to wait 15 minutes until someone came to our table and our order was taken.The service afterwards was quick and "okay", but the atmosphere was not very pleasant. At 9:20 p.m. we wanted to order espresso and dessert (according to our information - from the internet, however - the kitchen was open until 10 p.m.), but we were told we were too late, both were no longer possible. It's understandable when it comes to dessert, as the kitchen apparently only stayed open until 9 p.m. However, a nice note beforehand would still have been appropriate, we weren't alone in the restaurant ;) We wouldn't come back, there are other, more hospitable restaurants.

Hello,We were there spontaneously and booked by phone. We had the deluxe room. It was very large and had a bathtub next to the shower and was advertised as having a mountain view. Unfortunately we were disappointed with the price-performance ratio compared to the other rooms. We first had to get our own view of the mountains by laboriously pushing aside/tying yellowed curtains that were connected with a safety pin. Care products? There was shower gel and hand soap hanging in the bathroom. That's it. The breakfast was ok, but not much better than what I have seen in cheaper guesthouses. Some spiders, which are not so bad and are part of such a house, but look for places where they can be better removed (directly above or on the trash can).I guess this hotel has suffered a lot during the Covid period, which is a shame. The location is great. I wish the owners the strength to make their house more attractive through little things like beautifully laid towels, a small chocolate bar on the pillow and the view of the mountains.Teu Teu TeuGloria

Hotel rooms from the 80s. There were no shelves or hangers in the closet. Tub as a shower is impractical for older people. Breakfast a bit monotonous, no fruit. Dinner, okay. German staff unfortunately in short supply. Price-performance ratio doesn't fit at all.

We really liked the hotel, good location, beautiful view of the mountains, delicious breakfast. Very good and friendly staff, the room was not reserved, the girl at the reception immediately found us a free room, which was clean and comfortable. The hotel also has a good pool and sauna. I recommend it!

Traditional hotel in a quiet location. I think 10€ per person per day for a small sauna where there aren't even towels is too much, and the swimming pool is super small. Breakfast ok, but I've experienced better for €15. Service ok. Good beds and shower in a better room category. Food in the restaurant was also ok, but too expensive because the taste wasn't great and the portions weren't very big.

The room was clean and any defects mentioned were immediately looked at by the caretaker. We received a great welcome at the reception. The pool was at 29 degrees which was actually too cold for us personally. But not everyone is as cold as us. ;)From the hotel you can get anywhere you want to go in just a few minutes (Königssee, salt mine, Wimbachklamm, for example). We really liked it and we will definitely stay there again.

Anyone who books half board here is a 3rd class guest! I was there for 3 nights, Saturdays: starter broth, main course: burger with fries or dumpling with gray mushroom sauce (not fresh) or fried fish, dessert: vanilla cream with fruit / Sundays: starter broth, main course: meatballs with tomato sauce, Fish fried only on salad, dessert: vanilla cream with fruit, Mondays: starter broth, main course: burger with fries, dumpling with gray mushroom sauce (not fresh), fish fried with vegetable rice (from the bag) Dessert: vanilla cream with fruitI've never experienced anything like that, I reported that last evening and they said there had been a mistake in the kitchen during the planning... I suspect the minced meat had to go!You should arrive at half board at 6 p.m. so that there is room again until 6:30 p.m. for guests from outside who can dine on a menu. ... Since I was hiking, I usually came a little later and was then able to look at the schnitzel plates that were ordered by the guests away from home.I've never been "fobbed off" like this before and I'll definitely forego another stay.

Authentically traditional hotel with honest cuisine.We had the fireplace room on the ground floor. Very spacious with dining table and kitchenette. Everything very neat and clean. If requested, cleaning can also be carried out daily. Since the inn kitchen was right next to the room, you could hear the sounds of cooking and cleaning work until around 10 p.m. Not a problem for us but possibly an issue for families with children.The breakfast with enough choice, good filter coffee and fresh fruit. We had dinner every evening in our own inn. For me, very honest, down-to-earth and very good cuisine. For us it was perfect after a strenuous day of mountain touring.But overall, definitely not for someone who wants everything modern and new.

We were in the Bärenstüberl for the second time, this time in the historical part, it was a nice room. Of course, the room reflects the nature and area. A double bed, TV and balcony, beautiful view of the mountains. The room was rustic and beautiful. We went hiking. You can even reach everything from the hotel by bus. Bus stops in front of the door. The breakfast was sufficient and everything I would eat at home was available. The young man at the reception arranged a second pillow without any problems. I found it beautiful and as I said, the hotel reflects nature and the landscape. It's comfortable and everything was fine. There was plenty of food for everyone. Upon request, there was early cocoa for the child at no extra charge - you just have to let us know. In the evening we ate comfortably in the beer garden and chose from the menu, only having breakfastThe food we booked was also plentiful and good. We'll be back. If you're not into luxury, you prefer peace and quiet and idyll, this is the perfect place to relax and enjoy peace and quiet. We come back to switching off

The two of us with our dog have been there for a week now. We had actually booked for 3 people, but at short notice we only went as a couple. The price for the dog (12€/day) was kindly waived for us. We had booked half board. The room was clean, the bathroom was newly renovated and we had a balcony. The room also had a small refrigerator with a freezer compartment including an ice cube tray. In the morning there was a rich breakfast: different types of rolls/bread, cheese, cold cuts, cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes/mozzarella, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, fried sausages, Porige, 3 different jams, butter, chocolate cream, muesli, yoghurt, fruit salad, 2 different juices. Coffee (you were allowed to take a thermos flask). Unfortunately, the dog wasn't allowed in for breakfast, but if the weather is good you can have breakfast outside. For dinner there were always 3 different menus with a starter, main course and dessert, and you could choose the main course. Unfortunately, a la carte was not possible. The food was good, the dog was allowed into the restaurant in the evening. Nice and friendly service and everyone at reception was also very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately we didn't use the beer garden. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel, but we didn't use it because we drove our own car. Everything was easy to reach from there, the hotel is located pretty much at the end/beginning of Schönau. All in all, a good hotel, but we weren't 100% satisfied with the half-board food because the 3 choices didn't always suit our taste. I would have liked to have eaten a steak or a pork knuckle, but this was only available a la carte and that's not understandable if you paid half board.

The family room was ok, nice bathroom, priced on the higher side. Very competent and nice concierge at the reception.The breakfast was sufficient, although the scrambled eggs were watery.The dinner was bad. The roast pork was dry and long, the bread dumplings could have killed you and the cheese spaetzle was watery and tasteless. The fried potatoes were delicious.Hotel good, restaurant bad.

We have been there for the second time and are always impressed by the friendly staff and the central location to possible hiking trails. It is also recommended for dog owners. Above all, there are good parking options in front of the house and opposite the bus stop. One drawback we had was that there were no charging stations for electric cars in front of the hotel. But there are fast charging stations in Berchtesgaden.

The hotel - consisting of a main building and an adjoining building, which are located directly next to each other and are connected via a central corridor in which the reception is also located. No long journeys, everything can be reached quickly in the hotel.Location - quiet, I was able to sleep well despite the balcony door being open. However, there is a bus stop near the hotel; depending on the location of the room, there may be some noise from the buses.The parking lot - parking spaces are available free of charge in a parking lot belonging to the hotel to the left of the main building and in front of the hotel. There are enough parking spaces available.Room - (in my case a double room in the main building, 1st floor, on the side of the building, which is available for single use) clean, functionally furnished, furnishings a bit outdated but ok, a little more attention to detail would be good (it was fine in my room e.g. the water drains very poorly from the sink, the door handle came loose, wardrobe door is stuck... nothing dramatic but things that attentive cleaning staff should inform facility management before the guest does), room size ok, sufficiently large wardrobe, Balcony available.Staff - very friendly young man at reception when I arrived who explained everything well and in detail. Staff in the restaurant friendly and professional.Pool & Spa - I didn't use it, so no review.Food - breakfast buffet of a good standard, a selection of bread and rolls, various sausages and cheeses, eggs, muesli, etc. Dinner was also completely okay, both in terms of quality, quantity and price (I didn't have half board).Price-performance: I paid around Euro 130 per night in a single room including breakfast in July 2024. Despite the high season, I found it to be (too) much for what was on offer and I'm used to a better standard for the money or I would otherwise pay 20-30 euros less per night for this standard.Summary: the hotel is ok, nothing more and nothing less. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether they want to spend their annual vacation here. Generally four stars but the price-performance ratio pushes it down to three stars for me.
