Great location near the Freibergsee swimming lake. And very tasty food, big praise to the chef! There was actually always a vegetarian option (if you let us know when registering AND upon arrival) and fresh vegetables and salad. Vegan also worked for 4 out of 5 dinners. Breakfast was very generous with rolls and muesli. Easily vegan with these great spread jars and oat milk. And it's also organic and for a fair price!The accommodation is simple, but I like that. Nothing with Schickie Mickie. Everything was tidy and clean. Well located for hikes and also great for families.Great people there! When we were there, there was a friendly group of Berlin nature lovers there, where you could spontaneously go for a walk and get tips for the next tour. In the evenings you can get sociable with cards, chess or simply interesting conversations. So you learn that many interesting groups come to the house, e.g. yoga holidays (yoga mats aren't available yet (!), so you have to bring your own) or the educational holiday "The Alps - European high mountains between use and protection". Work and Life Lower Saxony eV.Otherwise there is also darts, table football and table tennis.Overall, it's easy to reach by train from Oberstdorf if you take bus #1 a few stops (included in the Walser guest card) and walk 20 minutes from there (luggage transport on arrival and departure possible by arrangement).Sustainability doesn't just seem to be a key word to me, but is also done with waste separation, solar energy and the use of Frosch products.Breakfast is available from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., dinner from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., lunch packages for an additional charge.

The owner drives like a hangman on the forest path and also gives you a stroppy answer. If I hadn't reacted correctly, he would have caught me dead. The behavior is unacceptable.

I stayed at the Naturfreundehaus for three nights with a school class (14-year-old students) on our final class trip. We previously went on a four-day hut tour. After the rather simple accommodation in large camps in the huts (which I had chosen very consciously) and the carbohydrate-rich food there, the rooms and food in the Nature Friends House seemed like paradise to the students.The rooms are large and bright, furnished so that the entire room crew can sit at a table in the room and play, there is enough closet space for all of the clothes and large, modern sanitary rooms. The food is buffet style, in the morning with a large selection of cereal ingredients, rolls and sweet and salty toppings. Dinner with a large, fresh salad buffet, a very tasty main course and, to top it off, a delicious dessert that made us want to eat.Added to this was the personal atmosphere that the staff spread. Despite being understaffed, there were opportunities for conversations and very pleasant encounters, and special requests were readily accommodated.I have rarely felt so comfortable in a group accommodation and that always applies to the children.A huge thank you to the team, keep your enthusiasm and joy!

The house is quietly located in the forest with a beautiful panorama of the mountains.The rooms are simply furnished, clean and the beds are comfortable.The food is regional and very tasty.Hendrik and his team do a great job there and fulfill every wish.

We just spent a weekend at the Naturfreundehaus Freibergsee and were treated to such delicious and friendly food. The room furnishings are simple and well maintained. We were able to sleep very well in the comfortable beds and the quiet location. Adventure and fun accompanied our stay. Particularly worth mentioning is the courteous nature of the staff, which once again underlined the feeling of well-being. We would love to come back! Thanks so much.

We were just staying at the Naturfreundehaus Freibergsee for a week of educational vacation and were treated to such delicious and friendly food. The room furnishings are simple and well maintained. We were able to sleep very well in the comfortable beds and the quiet location. Particularly worthy of mention is the warm manner of the house manager.Absolutely recommended!!!!

Friendly rooms (double room, only a small surcharge for single use) - friendly house team - and last but not least the good food: The Naturfreundhaus is an insider tip, for groups as well as for individual travelers, for hikers and for family vacationers: the Söllereck is only a 15-minute walk away , the Freibergsee too. It is not a "youth hostel", but rather comfortable accommodation at unbeatable prices, in the middle of the magnificent high Alpine landscape and yet not "remote". The photo “Alpenglow” was taken from the common room (October 23).The operators attach great importance to sustainability! Thanks!

You feel warmly welcome as soon as you arrive with luggage transfer. The landscape is fantastic without traffic, away from the hustle and bustle, a detached house with a nearby lake and mountains, what more do you need. The rooms are simple and everything in the house is very clean. The guest room is lovingly decorated with old photos, combined with very courteous staff, you feel well looked after there. The breakfast/dinner is presented in a rich buffet and tasted really good to me. The wine list is excellent with moderate prices. Bottom line... You can feel that the house is maneuvered with passion by Hendrik.

For everyone who wants to enjoy the peace and quiet in the forest. Great location in the forest, but still easy to reach everything.Food good, staff very friendly and helpful.Prices for drinks are fair, fresh coffee is even very cheap at €1.50. (Included with breakfast, of course.)What you should know, but what I personally liked:There is a lot of vegetarian food in the evenings and the rooms are very simple, as befits such accommodation.The only point of criticism from my side: At breakfast there could be some variety in the cold cuts and other things throughout the week.

We were there as a group. Top service from the operator right from the start, our luggage was picked up from the Söllereck car park.👍One can emphasize the friendliness and helpfulness of the operator and all employees.The accommodation is beautifully located in the forest and from there you can easily hike or cycle around surrounding destinations 🚴🏻♂️.The rooms in the house are simple, but very clean and there was nothing wrong with the sanitary facilities (in the hallway).The breakfast and dinner were very good and you could end the evening nicely in the dining room.We felt very comfortable and will definitely come back.
