Functional, simple, clean rooms with shared sanitary facilities, good location, some free parking spaces, rich evening meal and great breakfast buffet. We also met very friendly employees!

So I was there for the final trip and I think the rooms were ok, the 6 bed room was spacious but still not the best and unfortunately without its own toilet. Breakfast was good but dinner wasn't for me.

Too few toilets and showers, too little space to change clothes, no storage space, no hooks.Breakfast room very cramped. Queuing and waiting at the very simple buffet.

If you've always wanted to have the feeling of spending the night in a horror film, then the DJH Jugendherberge Greifswald is the right place for you! At the reception, the staff greeted me with a friendliness that would send a shiver down even a refrigerator's spine. I almost expected the receptionist to hand me a rusty key to a dungeon in the next moment. In the kitchen, however, you seemed to be on vacation from this horror film - the staff there was unexpectedly nice. I guess they wanted to defuse the disaster on my plate with a friendly smile. The food still remained a real delicacy - for fans of 'cardboard à la microwave'. The main course was probably something the reception staff couldn't manage the day before. The rooms? Absolute luxury... for someone who likes spooky surprises! Stained linens, hair (that wasn't mine), and blood stains that looked more like a bad crime story than a sleepover. The floor was so sticky I almost stuck to it - perhaps a new way to prevent guests from checking out?The toilets and showers? A nightmare! Leaky pipes that keep more water outside than inside, and a cleanliness that made me wonder if cleaning is just an optional suggestion here. There are sockets - but only at the sink! This means that while you are blow-drying your hair, you can also brush your teeth. Multitasking at its best!Room allocation? Real fun! The room I booked probably had a mind of its own and spontaneously decided to belong to someone else. My new room was a true oasis of relaxation, except that the beds were so hard that I'm sure they're also used as emergency services at the local hospital. And the WiFi? Oh yes, the WiFi... I think it had decided to go on vacation - far away from the youth hostel. However, I have to mention that the table tennis tables, volleyball field, barbecue area and the rentable ferry bikes are a really good thing. As an improvement, I would suggest really cleaning the rooms and bed linen and making sure that the reception staff are changed or made aware that it is possible to express themselves in a nicer way.

Actually a nice youth hostel. Well located, nice rooms and chic courtyard. Unfortunately, the showers and toilets in the hallways are really gloomy (but clean).

I was there for two nights and before that in other DJHs in the north. But Greifswald stood out positively for me. The contact was uncomplicated in advance, direct email response, always directly available by phone. Always friendly and helpful. My late arrival was also super uncomplicated. In the 4-bed room, the bedding was already on the bed and didn't have to be picked up from the cart. In my opinion, the showers and toilets were very clean for a fully booked youth hostel. The rooms were also perfectly adequate and there were cupboards that could be fitted with a lock. Simple but good – a youth hostel. The breakfast was great. Plenty of selection of fruit (also melon, kiwi, ...) and spreads (I think a total of nine different ones plus cream cheese) and nicely presented cold cuts. The staff here was also super friendly. The facility and public area are also simple but nice with activities (games, table tennis, ...). Overall, great for simple accommodation with a good breakfast if you're out and about most of the day anyway. It's just a little far from the center (about eight minutes by bike).

Really nice youth hostel with lots of opportunities to exercise, especially outside! The food is nicely prepared and is justified for the price. The location could be better, the supermarket can be reached quickly, but not the harbor nor the sea.Staff extremely polite and helpful. However, the double rooms are really very small…

Well-kept house, very nice entrance area.Very friendly welcome from the staff.Breakfast prepared with love and delicious. Unfortunately the signs are missing, so I asked for coffee and milk.Room spacious.Toilet in the hallway was clean.Dinner was disgusting, a mash of cabbage with potatoes, dessert wasn't enough. Children were immediately given a Mars replacement by the receptionist. (kitchen staff wasn't that friendly)

Eating in the evening is shameful for a long, tiring day for children. Potato soup and dry salad. The beds creak very loudly. Dirty, stained bed linen.Other groups on site were loudly walking in the hallway until 2 a.m.It's a shame, youth hostel or not, you can expect more.
