Hello Sven, thank you for your hospitality during our hike along the green belt. We enjoyed our stay, especially your lentil soup. Thank you also for the look into the dance hall on the upper floor. Make something of it. Revive the story, rewrite it and most importantly; write them down. All the best and warm regards, Tom, Work.Land.Life I Country life on trial in Upper Franconia 2024

The inn served as a stopover for a Rennsteig hike as it is located almost directly on the hiking trail. The inn is a bit old, but it certainly has charm. The rooms are clean and nothing is actually missing. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful, the landlord tried very hard to ensure that nothing was missing - and that's how it was.

We (a group of 12 people) were very well looked after, even though it wasn't actually open. Got delicious coffee and nice cold drinks. We even got a puzzle game to help us spend our break well. The innkeeper was super nice.

Inn: 3/5 stars. Fair, honest but the price is way too high in comparison.Nevertheless: It was by far a good experience to spend the night here so it was cool again.😇Food OK. Breakfast OK and overall very rustic.Operator friendly and accommodating.Room clean, bathroom clean and tidy (compared to other 5/5).If you are looking for a journey back in time to the GDR, you have come to the right place. When, after the first question about a type of beer, the statement came: "We don't have it," I had to grin and switch gears.OK. What do you have.... 🤒 original GDR era.The type of beer was hung on a big sign outside and that it should exist. I found that very funny.😇Experiencing the local residents who came for an after-work beer and chatting and experiencing them is exactly what you can understand by getting to know “the country and its people”. I found it really good, honest and inspiring. Really different than in the big city! And: good but short conversations. What is important right now was the topic. And the forest... which is also suffering extremelySurroundings: lots of slate roofs. It's good👍 but the clock in the village is wrong or not.😇I wish the operator only the best!!! An inn out of the way but in the middle of the forest!

We 3 Rennsteig hikers were welcomed in a friendly and courteous manner. We had booked for one night; the room was pleasant and appropriate for the price. We felt very comfortable and welcome with a warm fire in the guest room and a good dinner. The breakfast the next morning was also great. Thank you very much! We are happy to recommend the house.

Sven the innkeeper makes an indescribable effort to ensure that you don't miss anything. The Pils (unknown to normal beer drinkers) is delicious and drinkable, the prices are more than fair, the breakfast is great and Sven can also cook deliciously!Yes, it's rustic. Yes, it's a journey back in time to the deepest days of the GDR or even further back. But I slept well and had a lot of fun here in the evening, especially because the other visitors to the pub (villagers who wanted to drink their beer in peace on Sunday evening) were also very open and hospitable. This isn't a hotel with embroidered bathrobes and molecular gastronomy that won't fill you up! This is an honest and cheap village pub with overnight accommodation! Anyone who is open to it will leave here just as satisfied as I am.

The hut was a joke. It was far too expensive for its condition. There were flies and bugs everywhere. The beds are completely laid out. The water was cold after my wife took a shower. The breakfast was surprisingly very filling. The smell and the ambience in the hall were disgusting and old-fashioned for me.Therefore still no 2 stars.
