It's worth choosing this guest house for the beautiful balcony alone. There is even a small kitchen with a fridge and cooking hobs. The furniture is comfortable, and the breakfast is just great! …

My wife and I spent 2 nights at Haus Schönblick in May 2016. The house doesn't make a particularly good impression, especially in the entrance area and the stairwell, and would do well with a renovation. But the room was very tidy, clean and of a reasonable size, plus a small balcony with a table and 2 chairs. The breakfast was plentiful and very tasty. The owner is nice and approachable. Overall, good value for money.

I urgently had to look for a place to stay overnight because the family I was staying with suddenly had unannounced visitors from home and things were getting tight. I asked my husband to look for a room for me in a guesthouse for 3 nights. So I came to the Schönblick guesthouse on Petronellastr. 14 (Gästehaus Ursula no longer exists). My husband warned me that the operator on the phone had been unfriendly and tried to turn him away by saying, "We're just normal people here." Whatever "Normal People" can be. The time (7 p.m. in the middle of summer) was also very late for her. Whatever. I got there and found no one there. I rang the bell, then walked around the house, past strange bungalows - not a soul. Another call from my husband informed the good woman of my arrival and so she finally came - with a grim expression, unfriendly and suspicious. Without responding to my attempt to start a conversation, she led me to my room - room number 6 on the first floor. The stairwell already gave an idea of what awaited me, but I had no choice and accepted it. The stairs creaked and groaned with every step; it smelled old, musty and stale. When I got to the room, the woman made sure that I didn't actually want to have breakfast on any of the days and disappeared without saying anything nice. I proceeded to check out the room before heading out to collect my luggage. There was a wardrobe in the hallway that seemed solid and clean. He would later strike me as the ultimate eye-catcher, but I didn't know that yet. The bedroom and living room were carelessly furnished and unclean. The bed linen smelled washed, the mattress underneath was old and without a mattress protector. From the brick oven in the corner - a carelessly thrown blanket. Two more fleece blankets - dirty - lay over the armrests of two uncomfortable armchairs. On the table - an unironed tablecloth and an old, dirty warmer, converted into a tealight holder. The single kitchen contained mixed dishes, not even the two coffee cups were the same. The trash can was lined with a shopping bag, the refrigerator was dirty, and dirty, used wipes were also lying there. Everything about this kitchen was dingy - you can see it in the photos. Then the bathroom - risk of injury right at the doorstep, otherwise dirt, cold and mold. The toilet brush - completely bristleless and just disgusting. Anyone can click through the photos and see for themselves whether I'm exaggerating. The TV was small and had a cable that was far too short, making it difficult to watch TV from bed. The curtains had faulty threads in several places, as if someone had caught a sharp object. The trash can in the bathroom was dirty and had no trash bag. The window - see pictures. The heaters in both rooms were dirty. When I moved out, the woman was told that the room was dirty and just of the lowest standard. She was surprised and said that if no one said anything, she had no idea that something was wrong. She showed us everything, but she only agreed with us about the toilet brush. She saw the rest as comfortable and clean enough. She also explained her unfriendliness towards me on the day of my arrival with the fact that I was suspicious because 1. I was clearly a foreigner and 2. I had arrived without luggage! This really doesn't need to be commented on.

A simple, spacious and warm accommodation with a mini kitchen in the cupboard. Every room is something different. Parking spaces are in front of the house. Everything at a reasonable price.
