Extremely nice hosts. Functionally furnished rooms. Lots of animals, horses, ponies, donkeys, sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, rabbits and of course cats as well as two big, really lovely farm dogs. There is also a playground for small children, various vehicles available for free use and, in bad weather, a games room. Not far away is Witzenhausen with a number of restaurants etc.

We, a family with 1 child and dog, spent 14 wonderful days at Hof Carmshausen. The Hotze-Schäfer family are very loving hosts. Everyone is helpful and friendly. The riding lessons are divided according to the ability of the riders. Our daughter (9 years old) had a lot of fun riding. It was almost impossible to keep her with us. The children can help get the ponies ready. When we came back to the farm in the afternoon after our excursions, she went straight back to the children in the farm. In the evening you can sit together in a cozy atmosphere while the children play. There is often a fun program for the kids in the evening. Food is very tasty and varied! The meal plan for the week is posted on the bulletin board in the main building. Information regarding activities is also posted there. We took part in a nature hike. This was carried out by Mrs. Hotze-Schäfer for her sister. The path was challenging, but took us into areas that we would never have discovered on our own. The children were included and learned something about nature.Mr. Schäfer took us on a carriage ride. We learned a lot about the area and had a great time.A note from our side would be that the Monday morning introductory breathing session on the farm may be advertised on the notice board. If our daughter hadn't taken part in the riding program, all of this useful information about the farm would have been missed.

We spontaneously went to Hof Carmshausen with our boys (3, 5 and almost 8 years old) for 4 nights. Even though we were the only and probably last guests for this season, we didn't miss anything! …

We spent a week on the farm and felt very comfortable. Our children (4 and 7) had a lot of fun in the small, shallow stream and with the other children. …

We had booked a week's family vacation and left after an overnight stay. The apartment was very dirty, there was still hair in the fridge!! from the previous tenant, very dusty. …

Our room was great, nice size and big bathroom, the dinner was also very good. Unfortunately, the host mother seemed a bit stressed.
